This role is responsible for installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of production HVAC equipment, to include preventive and predictive maintenance techniques. The HVAC Technician will be skilled in cleaning, adjusting and repairing steam boiler systems, hot water boiler systems, air handlers, heat pumps, air conditioning condensers, dehumidifiers, and building control automation systems. This position is part of the Facilities department located in Ames, IA and will be on-site. In this role, a typical day will look like: * Installing, maintaining and repairing ventilation and air condition systems and dehumidification equipment. * Identify maintenance risks on equipment. * Provide training and documentation as needed for end users. The essential requirements of the job include: * EPA type II or higher license preferred * 5 or more years related experience as an HVAC technician preferred. Willingness to continue education in HVAC field. * Ability to troubleshoot/problem solve in a structured, logical manner.
