Key Responsibilities:
Personnel Security Processing:
Initiates background investigations.
Manages receipt of security documents submitted from contractor applicants.
Conducts fingerprinting procedures.
Verifies the appropriate level of background investigation being requested, and ensures all documents required for suitability processing have been completed and included in the individual files.
Prepares, submits, monitors, and updates computer tracking systems concerning appropriate case material.
Applies incident management, problem-solving, and task performance.
Reviews investigative forms for completeness, accuracy, and correct type of investigation needed.
Follow up with requesting or investigating offices to fill gaps in needed information.
Industrial Security Program Support:
Prepares, formulates, and develops DHS-wide policies, standards, and procedures for the implementation and management of the DHS Industrial Security Program.
Advises top-level DHS officials and subject matter managers on developments and advances in personnel, contract, and industrial security programs.
Conducts security surveys, inspections and compliance reviews in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, Presidential Directives, Executive Orders, interagency directives, and DHS and component policies.
Develops, implements, and oversees policies for the management and administration of programs and personnel governed by Executive Order 12829, National Industrial Security Program (NISP).
Other assigned duties.
Help Desk and Administrative Support:
Receives telephone calls and responds to incoming e-mail messages on "Customer Service" web address.
Reviews e-QIP requests online and provides technical assistance with the applicant.

The Person
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.
Relevant experience shall include experience within one or more of the standard securities and/or intelligence fields e.g., technical, physical, information, industrial, personnel and operational security.
Subject matter expertise and hands-on experience in one or more security and/or intelligence disciplines and experience implementing complex government security and/or intelligence programs and policies is preferable.
Must be highly organized and have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Compensation Disclosure

Troubleshoot and resolve network media and components
Develop and maintain a roadmap for capabilities, operations, and technologies
Assist with development and execution of test plans and supporting documentation of all network configuration upgrades, additions or revisions for customer approval before implementation
Support network traffic analysis and bandwidth optimization efforts to ensure attainment of performance and availability objectives
Evaluate and report on new/emerging network/communication technologies to enhance capacity, performance, and reliability of the network
Evaluate and recommend changes and/or technology upgrades to address performance, standardization, and industry best practices
Follows all Customer network security processes and procedures, ensures compliance with all Government policies
Represent customer requirements in technical exchanges with other government agencies
Perform site to new installations and technology refresh
Develop and maintain network architecture diagrams
Contribute to documentation in the Knowledge Base, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), work instructions, and job aids
Conduct knowledge transfer sessions with operations and engineering teams on new solutions, systems, applications, and tools
Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related degree; relevant experience may be a substitute for education
Two (2 plus) years of federal IT contracting experience on network and infrastructure programs
Three (3) to four (4) years hands-on experience with Cisco routing, switching and firewall technology (e.g., ISR, ASR, CSR, ASA, Nexus, TACACS/ISE)
Three (3) to four (4) years years working in a WAN environment, strong experience in incident and operations management
Strong knowledge of routing/switching, firewalls, load balancers and proxy servers
High level architectural and operational experience with complex networks
Very strong knowledge of routing protocols (e.g., BGP, EIGRP, OSPF) and network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, GRE, IPSEC, and VRF)
Strong knowledge of IT security related to networks and applications with solutions to mitigate those issues
Must be able to work evening change request windows and provide on-call support after normal business hours as required
Must have experience creating/writing design documentation, diagrams and other project artifact deliverables
Must be extremely resourceful in learning a very complex and dynamically changing network
Must be able to work independently in fast paced, dynamic environment.
Strong knowledge of Cisco technologies
Willing to work nights for network Change Request (CR) implementations and be a part of the on-call rotation for any network incidents that may be escalated from the Network Operations Security Center (NOSC)
Certification Requirement: CCNA certification
Clearance Requirement: Public Trust clearance or higher; Public Trust clearance with Dept of Homeland Security (DHS) or Customs & Border Protection (CBP) preferred
