So, what does a Technical Services Manager do?
You'll be an integral part of our Quality Control/ Technical Services team:
Lead the quality control and quality assurance efforts for cement products.
Develop and implement quality management systems and processes to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Perform various chemical tests on cementitious materials and mortar.
Perform various mortar tests on cementitious materials.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to monitor product quality and adherence to safety regulations.
Collaborate with process engineering teams to optimize production processes and implement improvements.

Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree with major in Civil Engineering, Mining, Concrete Industry Management, Materials Science and or Industry experience is preferred but not required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control and assurance, technical services engineer or similar in the cement industry.
Strong knowledge of concrete and cement properties, as well as quality control methodologies.
Experience with process engineering and optimization techniques.
Familiarity with MSHA regulations and safety standards in the construction industry.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
ACI and or ASTM certified. (referred)
Travel with their own vehicle to and from various plants and client locations. Mileage and tolls will be reimbursed.

Responsibilities
Manage and support the IT Support team, ensuring efficient and effective resolution of IT issues.
Oversee the maintenance and administration of IT resources, including hardware, software, insurance specific software, and network infrastructure.
Directly manage insurance carrier portals, ensuring secure and efficient user access.
Collaborate with the agency management team to develop and implement long-term IT strategies and plans.

- Manages the Demand Planner and Supply Chain Optimization Analyst, who are responsible for optimization and demand planning activities.
- During contingency operations, provides analysis on Messer and competitive sources of supply to meet customers supply expectations at the lowest overall cost of supply
- Development, use, and enhancement of demand forecasting and multiple optimization models, a mixed integer linear program with over a million variables and thousands of constraints that provides the foundation of S&OP process for US and Canada bulk plant network.

Principal responsibilities:
Network planning and investments:
- Identify cost savings opportunities through use of Messer decision support tools, interactions with Supply Chain Managers, and data analysis from SAP and GOLD
- Evaluate opportunities on an incremental, variable and full cost basis
- Use Messer proprietary network optimization tools to analyze projects, as well as information supplied from GOLD and SAP; understand limitations of tools with volatile supply and demand conditions and uses appropriately to ensure accurate benefit forecasts are developed

- Centrally manage US and Canada bulk ASU and CO2 network planning using Messer's short and medium-term optimization tools.

- Vendor management for optimization and bulk forecasting models.
- Supports enhancement of existing optimization and demand planning models to perform better network analysis
Business process excellence:
- Manages eight direct reports
- Provide operational leadership for the Business Process Excellence team in the Bulk/Tonnage organizations for US and Canada.
- Drive process excellence and continuous improvement around all administrative activities for the operations' teams (SAP data entry, payroll, trip administration, procurement, Goods receipt and Accounts Payable, AP, Kofax, etc)
- Ensure all business processes done by the administrative team maintain a high degree of quality
- Monitor all inventories and goods receipts activities to identify any errors impacting the P&L and balance sheet
- Lead the process of validating, reconciling and/or booking all inventories, production and power entries into SAP
- Support the Operations tonnage invoicing process
- Collaborate with systems teams including but not limited to SAP support, Distribution Systems, EAM and Accounts Payable to discuss and resolve systems challenges and ways to improve on current processes/ technology.
- Drive standardization within the group and across the other regions
- Train field Operations organization on proper work practices to ensure accurate business processes for back office data flows

- Parcview, J5, Telemetry
- TACT, Optimizer and potential new, future network optimization tools
- Sales and Operations Planning including Demand Planning tools
