POSITION OVERVIEW We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an as Child Care Provider at our Domestic Violence (DV) Shelter. In this role, you will play a vital part in creating a supportive and engaging environment for children residing in the shelter for after school and summer programing. The Childcare Provider is responsible for planning and implementing a variety of educational, recreational, and enrichment activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of the children. RESPONSIBILITIES Be prepared to address and de-escalate emotional crises or conflicts among children. Foster a nurturing and empathetic environment to help children cope with the challenges they may be facing. Develop and implement a diverse range of activities suitable for families and children in a shelter setting. Collaborate with team members to create a monthly activity calendar that includes recreational, educational, and social events. Provide guidance and support to participants during activities, fostering a positive and encouraging atmosphere. Work closely with other shelter staff to align activities with overall program goals and objectives. Collaborate with external partners and volunteers to enhance the variety and impact of activities offered. Regularly assess the effectiveness and impact of activities on participants' well-being.
