Responsibilities:
Drive architecture and development end to end across our mobile and web products.
Ensure robust and scalable API development, integrating third-party services and handling complex data flows from multiple external and first party sources. There's a lot of data to deal with and you're excited to continue learning how to combine this with LLMs to solve problems in a new way.
Work closely with other engineers and designers to design and implement new features and functionality for our mobile and web platforms.
Participate in system design discussions, providing insights on best practices and new technologies.
Monitor, debug, and improve backend performance while keeping an eye on security and privacy of user data.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in backend development, with proficiency in Typescript, Javascript, Python, or similar languages. You also need experience with front end technologies preferably React our front-end stack is React Native (mobile) with Typescript in most other areas today. We likely will add a web or desktop product in the future as well.
Experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP) and containerization (e.g., Docker, etc.) You don't have to be a devops expert but you feel confident in building and managing a product ready application environment.
Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases specifically AWS variants / services, with experience optimizing for performance and scalability.
Experience in startup environments is a plus, but we also value strong engineers looking to transition from larger companies into the startup world.
Must have worked in cross-functional teams, collaborating closely with front-end engineers, product designers, and other stakeholders.
Experience in event driven architectures. You feel confident in working with serverless systems and are comfortable with sync/async paradigms inclusive of testing and deploying production ready infrastructure.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
* Independently responsible for all aspects of Gas/liquid Measurement associated with the following: day-to-day upkeep and calibration of analytical sampling, and measurement and telemetry equipment.

Who we are
Chandler was the first city in Arizona to receive accreditation of our water and wastewater operations by the American Public Works Association, the toughest accreditation to achieve in the industry. The Utilities Division is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the City's water treatment plant, 32 water wells, and 19 booster station facilities and share another water plant with the Town of Gilbert. The Utility also operates wastewater and reclaimed water infrastructure, including industrial wastewater/ brine reduction and three wastewater facilities. We treat over 64 million gallons of fresh water and treat over 30 million gallons of wastewater per day to class A+ reclaimed water to meet irrigation and industrial demands. Our water is received from four primary water sources: Salt River, Verde River, Colorado River and ground water supplied by our extensive well field facilities. We also use advanced treatment processes to recycle over 7 million gallons of industrial wastewater and return it back for industrial reuse. Service is provided to the City of Chandler residential, commercial, and industrial users by a network of 1,224 miles of active water mains, 942 miles of active sewer mains, and 92 miles of reclaimed water mains.
