Job Duties:
The Biology Field Technician 2 positions will support research evaluating the use of remote cameras and GPS collars to monitor large mammal populations in northwest Montana. The positions require extensive time in the field away from the duty station. Technicians will work on foot hiking long distances in challenging environments (steep terrain, thick vegetation, bear habitat) to deploy remote cameras and collect ungulate scat samples across northwest Montana during fall and spring. Familiarity with scientific data collection protocols and strong attention to detail are required. There is a possibility of ungulate capture via clover trapping to deploy GPS collars during the winter, and another field season of camera deployment and recovery work in 2026.
Field work will require the technician to work alone or in teams in remote locations, driving, hiking, and climbing long distances over mountainous terrain, sometimes in inclement weather. Field skills need to be supplemented with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must perform field duties in habitats where encounters with grizzly and black bears, wolf, mountain lion, moose, and other potentially dangerous wildlife are possible. Requires extensive driving on highways, primitive logging roads & occasionally off-road. Capturing and handling large mammals may involve the use of dangerous immobilization chemicals. Hours of work are often long and irregular, will include weekend work, and will require frequent overnight camping or lodging. 2025 Trail Ride Wrangler

Our Rides and Horses
First and foremost, this is a customer service position. Wranglers can expect to be in the saddle leading guests 4-8 hours a day and must be able to provide a safe, enjoyable, educational experience while maintaining an upbeat, professional attitude.

The Lodge at Whitefish Lake, one of Montana's AAA Four Diamond resorts, is seeking a Barback to work with our Food & Beverage Team.
The Primary Job Functions Are:
Deliver world class service by being the professional of the space including, but not limited to; menu proficiency (including both food preparation, ingredients as well as all beverages, knowledge with allergens, guest demographics and resort/area awareness.
Keep up-to-date knowledge on all menu items including preparation, any allergens, and alternative preparations, and specials; Communicate food restrictions to Food & Beverage and Culinary team
Keep up-to-date with all beer, cocktail and wine menus
Ability to stay up-to-date on prepped juices, infusions, batched cocktails, side work, etc.
Check food before serving it to guest to ascertain that appearance, temperature, order and portions are correct
Converse with the guests at a high level, being aware of their needs and fulfill special guest requests as instructed by management or the guest directly
Ensure confidentiality of guests before and throughout their stay
Assist with guest service issues accurately and promptly; Communicate effectively with Restaurant Manager to assist
Maintain up-to-date awareness of Resort information and amenities.
Maintain a clean, organized Bar and workstation.
Accountable for opening and closing checklists as well as any/all tasks assigned by management/similar.
Looking for Team Members with:
High school diploma, GED or vocational training or job-related course work
Minimum 6 months of food & beverage experience, preferably in fine dining or a resort
Knowledge of world class hospitality and service
Basic knowledge of wine, beer and spirits
Valid Food Handlers License
Valid State Drivers License
Proficient ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment while remaining organized and prioritizing workload throughout the day
Has a friendly and professional manner under periods of high demands and with guest, team members, and management
SCHEDULE / HOLIDAYS/ PTO:
This position requires regular, reliable, and punctual attendance in accordance with business needs. Working evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
The Barback will typically be available during peak seasons.
The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In addition, this is a hospitality business, and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
