ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting complies. * Expedite delivery of benefits by maintaining working relationships with benefit providers and ensuring knowledge of all benefits is current. * Retain historical records by maintaining benefits recordkeeping system, filing, and retrieving benefit information. * Responsible for monitoring FMLA and leave of absence process. * Ensure all reports and information is submitted to appropriate locations in a timely manner. * Ensure effective communication by responding to employee requests for information and interpreting company policies. * Remain current on all legal regulations related to benefits and HR in general, including but not limited to HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, Cobra FERPA, and Healthcare Reform. * Responsible for generating and sending HR related reports to designated departments on a recurring monthly/quarterly basis. * Assist as needed with Recruitment: including full cycle recruiting, onboarding, I-9's and E verify. * Work directly with the Human Resources Executive Director on various projects. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training and/or Experience * A bachelor's degree in human resources or related field or equivalent work experience. * At least two (2) to three (3) years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with an emphasis in benefits. * Excellent organizational and time management skills. * Must be a team player, detail oriented and able to work on multiple tasks concurrently and maintain confidentiality. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics: * Able to perform duties independently under limited supervision. * Ability to deal with difficult situations involving sensitive and confidential employee issues. * Ability to communicate with all levels of employees and strong attention to detail. * Able to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines in a high stress environment. * Strong Microsoft office skills. * Ability to operate standard office equipment and follow office procedures. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * A bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field. * At least five (5) years of progressive human resources experience. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: * Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment. * Requires ability to communicate and exchange information, collects, compiles, compares, and prepares work documents, set-up and maintain work files. * Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.; retrieving and placing materials on high shelves and on floor-level shelves; standing, walking; carrying; grasping; hearing; seeing; sitting; kneeling; climbing; balancing; stooping; crouching and reaching. WORKING CONDITIONS: * Work performed in a general office environment. * May require availability for overtime hours during peak periods. * Requires periodic participation and attendance at recruiting events.
