As a Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist, your day is full of variety and meaningful connections. You start by driving to your first visit, working directly with children and families ages 0-3 in their natural environments, often at homes, parks, or daycares with family present. Using a parent-coaching model, you target speech, language, oral-motor, and feeding skills, empowering parents to continue the progress between visits. After each session, you document the therapy provided and then head to your next visit. Weekly team meetings and case conferences allow you to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, sharing insights and strategies to support each child's growth in a family-centered and culturally diverse approach.
