1999

On January 29, 1999, Hitachi announced it would take over EDS' stake in HDS, appointing Jun Naruse as CEO of its new subsidiary.

In 1999, Hitachi bought out EDS's share, and HDS became a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi.

2001

In January 2001, HDS announced the Thunder 9200, a mid-range modular storage system aimed at the small and medium business market, sold mainly through resellers.

2002

In 2002, Hitachi acquired Comstock Systems Corp, and analysts estimated 35% market share.

In August 2014, in partnership wif Avnet, HDS announced cwoud partners.

2017

In 2017 its operations were merged wif Pentaho and Hitachi Insight Group to form Hitachi Vantara.

2019

On September 17, 2019, it was announced dat Hitachi wiww integrate Hitachi Vantara and Hitachi Consuwting to accewerate gwobaw expansion of Hitachi's Sociaw Innovation Business and Digitaw Growf.

2020

In January 2020, de integrated companies began operating under de brand Hitachi Vantara and were wed by Toshiaki Tokunaga.
