Responsibilities
The Maintenance Technician will perform routine maintenance duties for the hospital
The Maintenance Technician will ensure that the facility and property are clean, safe, secure, and functioning at optimum efficiency
The Maintenance Technician is also responsible for completing their assigned safety checks and adheres to all safety regulations and practices
The Maintenance Technician will assist with performing testing, inspection, implementation and maintenance of equipment, systems, and structures
Performs assigned preventative maintenance on equipment (i.e., compressors, exhaust fans, air handlers, vents, fan coil units, water coolers, refrigerators, ice machines, etc.) in accordance with manufacturer specifications
Performs minor repairs and replacements, including replacing light bulbs and fire extinguishers, as requested/necessary
Other duties assigned by management
Tentative Position Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm; on call every other weekend
AGE
At least eighteen(18) years of age
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Current Tennessee Driver's License
EXPERIENCE
At least one year experience in maintenance duties, preferably in a hospital or other institutional setting
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires the staff person to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must and must also be able to occasionally lift and/or move 50lbs or more. Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written). Works with office equipment, blueprints, specifications, manual reports, all hand and power tools, including, but not limited to: lathe, drill press, grinder pumps, motor compressors, refrigeration, heating, boilers, electrical plumbing and other wood-working equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The residents/patients in this program are termed “At Risk” youth who have been exposed to either the legal or social service system. During the performance of one's duties, a staff person may be asked inappropriate questions, displays of socially inappropriate behaviors, the use of profanity and sexually explicit language. Staff persons may be exposed to racial slurs, derogatory comments, sexually suggestive phrases or threats of physical harm from students toward either staff or their families. There will be occasions when staff will be exposed to the elements of nature and may be expected to provide occasional transportation as required by program needs.

The Assessment & Referral Specialist position is required to handle a high volume of public and professional inquiries, manage intake appointments, schedule case events and use a multi-line telephone system. Work is performed in a team setting, as well as on an individual basis and is performed under the supervision of the Director of Assessment & Referral.

Serves as Intake Specialist for the Behavioral Health Services; conducts intake interviews to establish and assesses for appropriate level of care
Has knowledge and skills related to the developmental stages of children and the special needs of the geriatric population
Utilizes cultural, spiritual, and social groups and their relationship to the deliverance and acceptance of healthcare
Receives incoming inquiry calls and interviews “walk-ins” to establish viability for services

Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
