The tool maker is responsible for the design, fabrication, maintenance, and repair of tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and specialized equipment used in gear manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have experience in CNC machining, gear cutting, and ability to ensure that tools and dies meet tight tolerances required for precision gear production. This position is located in Roseville, MI. The starting hourly pay is $35 per hour. Essential Functions: Tool and Die fabrication and maintenance Manufacturing, modify, and repair tools, dies, and fixtures used in gear cutting, hobbing, shaping, and grinding. Setup and operate manual and CNC machines such as lathes, mills, grinders, Bridgeport, and gear cutting equipment. Perform precision grinding (OD/ID, surface and form). Work with tool steel and other materials. Work with and without blueprints. Maintain gear related tooling, such as hobs, shaper cutters, and work holding fixtures. Work closely with engineering and production teams to develop and refine tooling solutions for gear manufacturing. Conduct in-process and final inspection of tools.
