* Tests piping system for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks.

Duties & Responsibilities
Replace and repair a variety of existing pipes, plumbing and pumps to include welding, pipefitting, soldering, cutting, bending, threading, and brazing. Operate valves to verify repair. May require equipment to be moved or relocated for repair.
Assemble and install new projects which may include welding, sanitary welding, pipefitting, soldering, drilling/mounting holes, installing ceiling hangers, etc. Inspect worksite to identify obstructions ensure no structural weakness or interference with other systems.
Maintain and monitor the performance of Powerhouse Operations and related equipment. Clean, inspect, collect and evaluate data of equipment including boiler, water treatment, water chiller equipment, etc.
Operate boiler. Start up and shut down of steam generation for plant use. Complete boiler conduct water testing and adjust water treatment chemical feed levels based on findings. Dump brine and add softener salt. Perform boiler blow down on routine basis. Assure proper pressure levels. Inspect boiler safety switches to insure functionality. Respond to boiler alarms, diagnose, and correct any issues.
Maintain Steam Traps. Understand the use of steam tables, the design differences and applications of steam traps, the methods to size steam supply piping and condensate return lines and install the before mentioned.
Maintain and repair a variety of pump styles (i.e., sanitary lobe, air diaphragm, progressive gravity, etc.) associated with supporting plant and facility operations.
Read drawings, blueprints and interpret various specifications and manage all aspects of piping systems and pipe installations.
Perform facility and utility maintenance to include radiators, drains, air compressors, air conditioners and toilets.
Welding using sanitary TIG welding techniques to repair and or update existing processing systems.
Respond to page and move to service calls.
Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of maintenance shop and recording materials used. Assist in maintaining parts and supplies inventory and reporting low inventory levels to appropriate personnel. May assist with ordering materials.
Adhere to all GMP, including sanitary requirements, safety, Food Safety, and standardized work procedures.
Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent is required but Technical degree in Pipe Trades, Preparatory Plumbing, Boilers, or related field is strongly preferred.
3-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent education in a related field.
