Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to) Perform all general labor functions (Sweep floors, empty trash, cut grass/remove snow when needed) Load/unload trucks Operate fork truck Operate jib hoist Operate small power tools Operate and maintain all personal safety equipment Assemble all standard products, such as disposorbs, vaporpacs, high flow ventsorbs, etc. Pressure test all assembled units to meet necessary requirements Recondition small returnable units, such as cyclesorbs, bulk bins, etc. Weigh/Load carbon into the small systems as needed. Assist in receiving and verification of quantities of materials and parts delivered to E&A. Read instructions & drawings as necessary for the reconditioning and assembly of standard products. Fabricates lined pipe (PPL and TFE). This includes cutting, threading, assembly, flaring and testing of pipe spools from 1” through 4”. Cuts, threads, and assembles carbon steel pipe, plastic pipe and stainless steel pipe Assists with warehousing duties. Performs layout and assembly on all small equipment such as cyclesorbs, bulk bins, vapor paks and high flow ventsorbs (and fan skids). Maintain CCC's service equipment. This includes dual modules, mobile adsorbers, filters, etc. Duties include review of system when returned from customers, preparation of list(s) of required repairs and parts, performance of repairs to the mechanical parts of the systems as well as localized (spot) lining/painting repairs Pickup parts and or make small equipment deliveries Qualifications A High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred 0-2 years of general labor experience Industrial labor experience is preferred More about Calgon Carbon, A Kuraray Company We are a company of scientific innovators with over 205 patents. We specialize in the complex and fast-paced environment of tank repair on a nationwide scale. No two tanks are alike, so when they need repair, they often pose unique or complicated technical issues. Our experienced engineering staff are well-versed in API 650, API 653, AWWA D100, AWWA D103, API 12D, and other tank specifications. We build and repair welded above-ground storage tanks (ASTs), bolted tanks, and related structures. We also inspect, install, and repair tank systems such as aluminum geodesic dome covers, aluminum internal floating roofs (IFRs), IFR mechanical shoe seals, liquid level gauges, fire protection systems, silo support structures, industrial storage tanks, and heating and insulation systems. We are currently looking to hire welder's helpers to join our Pittsburgh Local Tank Crew. Our Pittsburgh Local Crew builds and repairs tanks in Pennsylvania and the surrounding states. Frequent travel is required in the region. When not traveling, the crew works in our Braddock, PA shop. We are looking for individuals who are good working with their hands, enjoy making things, and want to learn how to weld. We will teach you how to weld storage tanks and make custom fabricated parts and assemblies. Day to Day Duties: Performing arc and torch cutting and gouging. Using generators, compressors, tuggers, blowers, grinders, and other power and air tools. Welding plate with 7018, 7024 and 6010 stick (SMAW), flux core (FCAW), and submerged arc automatic machines (3 o'clock and “goat”/tractor). Using come-alongs, hydraulic jacks, hoists, air bags, winches, and other lifting equipment. Using tank shell buggies, tank scaffolding, tank ladders, and other specialty equipment. Performing vacuum box tests, oil tests, dye penetrant tests, and other non-destructive quality examinations. Using gas monitors, fresh air kits, respirators, emergency rescue kits, and other safety equipment. Operating forklifts, man lifts, boom lifts, and other large lifting equipment. Knowledge of crane operations (including rigging and signaling) Reading detailed erection and fabrication drawings. Planning the sequence and methods of fitting up, welding, repairing, and constructing tanks. Completing job safety analysis, safety audits, site-specific training, and other safety training. Follow directions and work professionally with other crew members. Other duties as assigned. Comp and Benefits: Compensation: Hourly wage based upon experience and skill set, plus per diem (to cover meals and lodging). Normal hourly wage paid for work-related travel (no overtime). Non-union. Occasional prevailing wage. Non-exempt. No PTO or paid holidays. Pay periods are weekly. Direct deposit is available. Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision benefits are available on the first of the month following a 30-day probationary period. Phillips Tank pays approximately 60% and employee pays 40% of medical benefit premiums. Employee pays 100% for vision and dental benefit premiums. Shift: Project work schedules vary. However, a typical work shift is daylight (10 hours per day, 5 days per week). Status: Full-time employee (subject to project availability and work schedules.)
