Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor and Senior Equipment Technician, the Shop Helper performs a variety of routine duties in the maintenance of all types of County vehicles and equipment. This position is responsible for the cleanliness of department vehicles and inspection for possible mechanical failure. The Shop Helper is also responsible for helping with routine maintenance of vehicles, including changing oil and repairing and/or replacing tires. Shop Helper will also be required to help maintain cleanliness of shop area. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Performs routine maintenance and repairs of county vehicles and equipment. • Assist shop mechanics in day to day duties • Washes exterior and interior of county vehicles. • Transports vehicles to and from different locations for servicing. • Performs other duties of a similar or comparable level.
