Job Summary:
The Laborer will work with members of the construction team to ensure smooth operations of daily paving on every assigned project. Performs a wide variety of tasks associated with the laying down of asphalt.
Essential Functions:
Committed to serve. Assist in the preparation of surfaces for paving, including clearing debris, grading, and compacting.
Operate hand and power tools such as shovels, rakes, tampers, and compactors to perform various tasks.
Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment from trucks.
Focused. Assist in the setup and operation of paving equipment, including pavers, rollers, and skid steers.
Protect family and friends. Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Safety always wins. Follow safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Respect and engage. Work collaboratively with team members to achieve project goals and deadlines.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
Requirements, Education and Experience:
1. Previous experience in construction or paving preferred but not required.
2. Strong work ethic and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekend and overtime.
3. Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
4. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
5. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from job sites.
6. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
7. Authorized to work in the U.S.

We are currently hiring for experienced and entry level Driller's Assistants for environmental and geotechnical drilling projects.
Duties
• Assist lead driller with all drilling operations, including but not limited to, collection of soil and rock core samples, installation of monitoring wells and decommissioning wells.
• Assisting in maintenance of drill rigs, support vehicles and equipment.
• Loading and unloading supplies for daily drilling activities.
• Operation of miscellaneous equipment such as jackhammers, generators, pumps, pressure washers, etc.
• Other duties as assigned by the lead driller.
Salary Range: $20-$22 per hour
The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
Requirements
• Some mechanical and electrical aptitude and desire to troubleshoot equipment a plus.
• Valid NYS driver license.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to regularly lift and move 80 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors assisting drill rig operations in all weather conditions year-round.
• Electrical, plumbing and construction experience a PLUS.
• 10 hr. and 40 hr. HAZWOPER training preferred but not required because we can provide training.
• OSHA 10 hr. or 30 hr. construction safety training preferred, but not required, we can provide training.
• Experience with operation of heavy equipment is a plus.
