Characteristic Duties:
* Responsible for routine and major plumbing maintenance, trouble-shooting, repairs and preventative maintenance related to their demonstrated craft.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Shop Helper is an entry-level position responsible for providing assistance in workshops, factories, and repair shops. Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, Plant Manager, or Shop Foreman, the Shop Helper will gain hands-on experience operating machinery, maintaining inventories, cleaning, and offering general support to the business.
This role requires consistent adherence to company mission and values, ensuring the production of high-quality products that meet industry standards and customer expectations while following all Quality and Safety procedures.
As a safety-sensitive position, the Shop Helper's responsibilities directly impact the health and safety of themselves, coworkers, and the end-users of our products. All production and production support positions fall within this category.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operating Devices and Machinery
Assist staff by operating machinery and tools.
Empty scrap bins:
Chips go into the designated chip container.
Drops go into the large drops container.
Inventory Management
Monitor inventory levels of janitorial supplies and materials.
Restock PPE and other safety items as needed.
Replenish consumables and other welder/fabricator supplies.
Yard Work
Assist the yard operator in organizing kits and materials in the yard.
Restroom, Breakroom, and Office Cleaning
Perform thorough cleaning and sanitization of restrooms during each shift.
Complete cleaning tasks, including:
Sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and disinfecting surfaces.
Ensuring sinks, toilets, and urinals are spotless.
Restocking paper towels, toilet paper, and soap dispensers.
Washing windows and mirrors.

General Support

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Shop Helper is an entry-level role designed to provide assistance in various settings, including workshops, factories, and repair shops. Under the guidance and supervision of maintenance manager, plant manager, shop foreman, the helper will learn to operate devices and machinery, maintain inventories, clean and provide general support for the business. This position requires work performance that is consistent with the company mission and values producing a product that meets recognized standards and customer expectations by maintaining Quality and Safety procedures. This is a safety-sensitive position which has been defined as one where the employee's responsibilities impact the health and safety of themselves, coworkers and/or the public (in this case the end-user of our product). All production and production support positions fall into this category.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operating Devices and Machinery:
Assisting staff by operating machinery and tools.
Empty scrap bins, chips go in the chip container, drops go in the large drops container.
Inventory Management:
Monitoring inventory levels of janitorial supplies and materials.
Restock PPE and other safety items.
Restock consumables and other welder/fabricator needs.
Yard Work:
Assist yard operator to organize kits or material in the yard.
Restroom/Breakroom/Office Cleaning:
Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms during each shift.
Tasks include sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and disinfecting surfaces.
Ensure that all fixtures (sinks, toilets, urinals) are spotless and free of grime.
Restock paper towels, toilet paper, and soap dispensers.
Washing and cleaning windows and mirrors.
Dusting furniture and fixtures.
General Support:
Assisting colleagues with tasks as required.
Snow removal as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent.
Good manual dexterity and aptitude for working with tools and machinery.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to learn and adapt to changing job requirements and responsibilities.
