PURPOSE Assists Driver in delivering customer orders; assists in loading and off-loading product; or drives pilot vehicle for oversize loads. May deliver customer orders using a company van or pickup truck under 10,000 GVW. Work is performed under the direction of department supervisor or manager. Does NOT require a Commercial Motor Vehicle license. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Assists with loading and appropriately securing product onto or inside delivery vehicle using motorized or non-motorized material handling equipment. * * * Drives pilot vehicle for oversize loads, ensuring compliance with appropriate safety regulations. * Inspects and maintains delivery vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory requirements. * Plans and paces own work efficiency in order to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related productivity goals. * Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures. * SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. A roof loader helps unload multiple bundles of shingles to the ground or rooftop as well as other building materials. Rooftop loading may be on a flat or sloped roof and on one or two stories. Safety is always the number one priority for a roof loader. Rooftop loaders may also help load the truck as well as check the order for accuracy. This is normally a Monday through Friday shift, most often with early starts time. Beacon Building Products is currently seeking a Delivery Helper/Roof Loader to load, unload, and move materials in the warehouse, yard, and work site in Baltimore, MD. Sign-on Bonus!! Responsibilities: Participates in manually loading orders on outgoing trucks by repetitive lifting of up to 100 lbs. Accompany driver to job site; assist driver by guiding truck onto and off of customer's property to avoid damage. Participants in the proper unloading of materials to roof by repetitive lifting or using conveyor at job sites. Assists customers in loading vehicles.
