Transports completed pallets into the storage area. * Breaks up and stages case dividers. Supplies empty cases to other packaging helpers * Keeps work area clean and orderly be sweeping floors, wiping down equipment and other sanitation jobs assigned. * Sets tape machine to the product and case specifications, passes the cases through the machine and printing system through training. * Monitors tape on case enduring all flaps have been sealed accurately with tape in the middle. * Monitors case to ensure the bar code and lot number are print accurately by the printing system. * Repacks damage cases on the line. * Monitors the tape level on the top and bottom of the machine. Changes the rolls of tape when finished. * Clears any jammed on the conveyor. * Reports case counts on count sheets for each product that passes though the tape machine. * Operates material handling equipment to convey and store materials and finished goods. * Reports all equipment problems to the foreman and/or supervisor immediately. * Helps in training of new employees or employees who change job classifications. * Participates on all matters relating to safety and health in the work area and positively promote safety in our operations. * Plans and carries out job assignments without hazards to yourself and other employees. * Reports all unsafe acts and/or conditions or equipment immediately. * Promotes safety by understanding and following safety procedures and reporting all incidents in a timely manner. The Student Zone Helper will be assigned to a Los Angeles Public Library (LAPL) branch (one of the libraries listed below) for a schedule that is Monday - Thursday, for a 3-hour shift anywhere between 2:30 - 7:00pm (hours vary by location). Current Branches with openings are: * Alma Reaves Woods - Watts Branch Library ~ 10205 Compton Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90002 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * General operation of the Student Zone during after school homework hours. * Setting up the Student Zone so that it will be ready during the branch's Student Zone hours. * Following all emergency procedures/protocols, as well as maintaining sanitary conditions in response to COVID-19, as directed by LAPL. * Encouraging and assisting students in completing their school assignments * Register students who participate in the Student Zone for LAPL resources (including an LAPL library card). * Setting up Student Zone materials and supplies (including electronic equipment and stationery supplies). * Answering simple questions and referring more complex reference questions to library staff. * Assisting students in using electronic equipment. * Ensuring that students adhere to the library rules of behavior and rules of conduct. * Assisting library staff in maintaining records of participants, preparing reports of the Student Zone and collecting data such as evaluations and attendance sheets. * Complete field reports for each student that visits the Student Zone and submit Monthly Feedback Reports * Submit paper and electronic timesheets on ADP in a timely manner to ensure that hours are accurately tracked and processed * Attend SZH mandatory trainings throughout the year * Assisting librarians in determining what apps and computer programs will best suit the needs of the users of the Student Zones. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Places parts on and off racks as needed. • Performs bending of aluminum wires on racks to ensure parts are secure and adequately placed. • Tightens bolts and screws with equipment and tools on saddle racks to ensure they are secure. • May assist the Plater in cleaning tanks. • Performs visual inspection of parts to ensure no over plating. • Use air hose to dry parts upon completion of plating cycle. • Prepares and packages parts for shipping. • Adheres to safety regulations. • Performs other duties as assigned.
