Position Title: Food Prep Helper FTE: .375 (20 hours/week; August - May) Department: Food Service Reports To: Sous Chef FLSA: Non-Exempt This position promotes and supports the learning experience of Marian University students by accurately and efficiently prepare food items for salad bar at various meal periods. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh. * Labeling and stocking all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible. * Measuring ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking. * Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, etc. * Prepare simple dishes such as salads, etc. * Reads recipes and/or product directions. * Keeps records and requisition for supplies/equipment as needed. * Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations to ensure high-quality food. * Maintain food safety and sanitation standards. * Basic cooking responsibilities (i.e. cook vegetables, chicken, etc. for salads). * Provides the highest quality of service to customers at all times. * Maintain a clean, sanitized, and safe work station (including utensils, equipment, and dishes) following all Marian University and regulatory rules and procedures. * Completes cleaning according to daily and weekly schedules and dishwashing/pot washing as needed. * Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training. * Complies with all HACCP policies and procedures. * Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures. * Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments. * Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner. * Assists with orienting new employees to their work area. * Ensure that all regulations and standards of health and safety are met at all times, and that the kitchen remains hygienic. * Informs supervisor immediately of any equipment malfunctions or breaks down or if any safety or sanitation hazards are suspected or exist. * Assists in training new employees, as requested by supervisor. * Attends department meetings and in-service programs, as required. * Performs other duties as assigned. About The Opportunity Menasha Packaging is looking for seasonal workers to work during the summer of 2025. This position will assist operators at various machine centers throughout the plant to fill in for people when they are absent. This job entails assisting with the operation of a variety of machines including various types of printing machinery, die cutters, folder-gluers, shipping and receiving, etc. Must be enrolled in a post-high school education program. Essential Functions: Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements Maintain high efficiency according to established rates during operation of the assigned equipment. Stage material and supplies needed to run production job using PIT equipment Move skids of waste and record accordingly Assist operators in maintaining high production efficiencies according to established rates during operation of the assigned equipment Perform feed and/or delivery tasks on various pieces of machine equipment Troubleshoot and make decisions regarding the quality of finished product Complete required quality inspections and paperwork Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the equipment and surrounding area Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements Actively participate in lean manufacturing initiatives Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors Shifts: Straight 8 hour shifts, rotating 8 hour shifts, rotating 12 hour shifts Pay: Rotating shifts starting at $18+/hour. Straight shifts range from $16.64 to $18+/hour based on location and shift.
