CPC is seeking an experienced and qualified individual for vessel support services to Waterfront Operations CCD, in Norfolk, VA. The selected candidate will work in the transportation shop, responsible for maintenance of trucks and boat trailers, as well as inspections and minor maintenance on other heavy equipment, like forklifts and rolling stock. All work will be performed safely in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
Duties and work conditions include but are not limited to:
Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform maintenance and repairs to truck and trailer brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics, and air systems.
Perform daily safety inspections of vehicles, forklifts, and rolling stock.
Replace associated tires, bearings, and hub assemblies as required.
Assess marine trailer frames and bunk condition and make recommendations for repair, fabrication, or redesign.
Assist in over-the-road transportation of trailered boats as required.
Operate various makes & models of forklifts in support of missions as required.
May perform minor diesel engine, forklift, or vehicle mechanical preventative maintenance or repair. .
Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 4 years automotive, trailer, or heavy equipment service experience required.
Current Commercial Driver License for Virginia highly desired.
Previous maintenance experience with various sized U.S. Navy boat trailers, transportation equipment, and prime movers is preferred.
Must be organized and be able to multi-task.
Strong interpersonal skills are required.
