What you'll be doing. Job Summary: This position is responsible for gathering and analyzing statistical data to help the company make wise sales and financial decisions. The outcomes of this position help the company manage risk, determine cost structures, reduce costs, and increase profits. Requirements: Pricing and Profitability Analyze and quantify rating parameters and pricing products and provide recommendations when deviations and revisions from published standard assumptions are appropriate. Support corporate and business financial planning by analyzing loss reserves, calculating/estimating IBNR & WBNR, and performing catastrophe/exposure studies. Identify and propose actions to improve profitability of products and accounts. Risk Management and Rate Compliance Prepare rate filings/exhibits and assist in developing pricing, underwriting and fraud prevention strategies. Utilize actuarial tools and develop ad hoc tools as necessary to quantify risks presented by a product and account. Build and improve actuarial files, models, and algorithms. Conduct periodic audits of underwriting files to determine if pricing models are appropriately employed. Assist in reinsurance terms evaluation. Product Development Assist with the development of new insurance products and advise underwriters in making profitable decisions regarding current and prospective business. Analysis and Reporting Create appropriate measurements and reports including but not limited to monthly analysis of production, underwriting results, expenses, cash flow, and financial performance. Required Experiences and Skills: Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) Completion of at least 5 actuarial exams. Minimum of 3 years' work experience in a corporate environment. Minimum intermediate level experience using Microsoft Office Suite/Excel Education/Certifications: Requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required. About the role As an Actuarial Analyst 2, you will maintain actuarial models to design and price life, health, and annuity products. You will support projects involving updating policy forms, industry competitive data and surveys, and utilize your knowledge to consult and influence management towards courses of action that have impact on products/pricing, modeling, profitability, underwriting, administration, and risk management. Continued progress towards actuarial designations through the Society of Actuaries is strongly encouraged. COUNTRY is a smaller size company. How does this role make an impact? * Builds actuarial assumptions and models using a variety of tools, including actuarial modeling software, data visualization applications, programming languages and Microsoft Office applications. * Communicates results to direct management, verbally, in writing or in presentation form. Documents work according to actuarial standards of practice. * Works towards actuarial designation from the Society of Actuaries. * Be proficient with actuarial pricing models and complete work. * Be familiar with relevant laws, regulations and guidelines and ensure contracts and annual testing such as illustration regulations are compliant. Do you have what we're looking for? Experience working with Life and/or Annuity products. Solid technical and communication skills. Life pricing experience highly preferred. Most incumbents have completed most, if not all, coursework for attaining Associateship (ASA) (5 - 6 exams/online courses). Most incumbents will have completed 3 - 5 exams/online courses. Typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education and training. Base Pay Range: $88,800-$122,100 The base pay range represents the typical range of potential salary offers for candidates hired. Factors used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, qualifications and experience. Incentive Pay: In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a Short-Term Incentive plan. Why work with us?
