(E) Operates powered cleaning equipment including but not limited to buffers, vacuums, and power washers. (E) Moves furniture and materials in accordance with proper lifting techniques, as necessary. (E) Reviews inventory of cleaning supplies in work area(s) and requests/attains additional supplies as needed. (E) Empties waste receptacles including but not limited to waste barrels, garbage cans, and recycling bins. May be responsible for operating university vehicles and disposing waste in dumpsters. (E) Shovels snow to maintain clear building walkways and stairs; spreads salt and/or sand as necessary. (E) Makes general repairs of a simple nature, including minor repairs to cleaning equipment and replacing light bulbs. (E) Properly secures cleaning equipment, cleaning equipment storage rooms, classrooms, offices, and buildings after use and in accordance with Facilities Operations guidelines. (E) May be responsible for training new Maintainer II employees from time-to-time, as assigned. (E) Inspects assigned work area(s) and notifies supervisor of areas or items requiring attention, such as leaking faucets, broken latches, damaged paint, etc. (E) Periodically inspects cleaning equipment for wear and tear; notifies supervisor of concerns. (E) Assists with delivering goods and moving materials when needed and as assigned. (E) Serves as designated essential personnel; responds to weather and other emergency situations as assigned. (E) Performs all duties safely and responsibly. (E) Demonstrates civility and professional, customer-service oriented behavior, worthy of emulation by other staff and students.
