What you'll do:
Mentored Learning: Work alongside an experienced technician, observing and assisting with various maintenance and repair tasks
Perform Miscellaneous Fixes: Including but not limited to -
light plumbing and electrical work
minor carpentry repairs
preventative maintenance & general upkeep
assembly of furniture and equipment
Hands-On Training: Develop a wide range of skills that will help you learn and grow within the RV service industry, such as -
Learning to inspect units for customer sale
Learning and executing the installation of 5th wheel hitches and full wire brake controls
Learning and executing the customer pay side of the service work
Assisting with various service tasks on any RV unit coming in the service department
What we're looking for:
Entry-level candidates
Interested in RV industry and/or mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, or maintenance work - light experience in any of these areas is a plus
The ability to stand, stoop, crawl, and bend for long periods of time
The ability to lift anywhere from 25 to 50 lbs with an assistive device
Work in environments that include heat, cold, dust, and loud noises
Flexibility with work schedules; including Saturdays (we are always closed on Sundays)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Light Maintenance Laborer you will sweep and remove large amounts of debris from production departments, coolers, and bays. You will empty 96-gal bins and operate a hi-lo to transport large loads of refuse. You will assist in landscaping grounds by removing weeds, and disposing of leaves and snow when needed. In addition, you will stock shelves with inventory items, prep containers for the design team, and assist other departments with general labor as needed. Additional hours will be required in February, May, November, and December.

Summary and Purpose:
Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on various types of equipment and carries out highly technical improvements and repairs in and around campus buildings, which require extensive mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC skills.
Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks/Essential Functions:
Performs preventive maintenance as indicated by Preventive Maintenance program.
Performs corrective maintenance and building improvements.
Performs daily rounds as indicated on checklists; takes corrective action promptly on deficiencies noted.
Performs necessary recording of work requests including time spent and material used on each request.
Performs complex plumbing, electrical, and HVAC preventive and corrective maintenance as needed including assembly, installation, and testing.
Keeps up with knowledge of local building, OSHA, and ADA codes and regulations.
Works with Campus Safety on emergency response plan.
Maintains vehicle fleet.
Responds to any day to day campus emergency, questions or problems that arise.
Responds to emergency calls nights/weekends as needed, including utility outages, water main breaks, electrical outages, natural gas outages.
Participates in night shift turn rotation, overtime, and weekend on call rotation.
Performs other job duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Education Requirement
Must demonstrate proficiency in the skills listed above.
Must have three years of experience in trade or building maintenance or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
Must possess a valid Michigan vehicle operator's license and have a good driving record.
Must exhibit a willingness to learn new tasks to stay abreast of new technology.
Must be able to make decisions independently to manage work responsibilities. Most problems that arise are expected to be solved independently by the individual.
