Responsibilities
The Plumber performs and coordinates the installation, repair and service of plumbing and drainage systems in a residential and light commercial setting. You must have experience as a residential plumber, and you must have a positive attitude.
Install, maintain and repair installed existing equipment and related plumbing and drainage systems.
Work with and understand blueprints, schematics and job specifications as it applies to your craft and in accordance with safety and building codes.
Ability to determine and clearly identify proper materials and material quantities for new and existing repair projects.
Evaluate customer requests, price projects, troubleshoot customer issues, and present a description of a work order to a customer.
Requirements
Must have current Driver's License and submit to a background check
Must have tools, vehicle and good references
Must have experience in the remodeling or home repair trades
Independent Contractors must carry liability insurance and workers comp
Must carry plumber license
Must pass screening process

What you need:

Summary/Objective:
The Service plumbing Helper/Apprentice works day-to-day assisting Journeymen plumbers with the layout, assembly, installation, and repair of pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, air, gas, and drainage systems, according to company standards, specifications and plumbing or mechanical codes.
Essential Functions:
* Cuts or drills holes in walls to permit passage of pipes
* Selects specified type and size of pipe as directed
* Mounts pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceiling to hold pipe
* Cleans copper
* Loads, transports, unloads and furnishes more experienced mechanics materials, tools, equipment and supplies
* Assists in cleaning work areas and the restocking of supplies and material
* Assists in the lifting, positioning and securing of materials and work pieces during installation
* Focuses on safety and safety practices first and foremost at all task inceptions including safe use of power and hand tools
* Performs other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibility: No
Required:
* 1 - 3 years plumbing knowledge/experience in a construction/industrial environment and/or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience
* Knowledgeable of tools and materials, fittings and pipe
* Are willing to commit to developing your technical skills through our internal training programs and / or an Apprenticeship Program
* Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills
* Must be able to pass post-offer pre-employment drug screen, and may be required to satisfactorily complete additional background checks as required (i.e. DMV, criminal history)
* Must adhere to all company policy and procedures
* Must be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned

Position Summary
Assist with and installs pipe repair, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems by performing the following duties. Candidates must pass a Pre-employment drug screen, may be subject to a background check and must have a valid Driver's License. Reliability for work schedule is crucial. Candidate must be willing to travel to various jobsites and willing to work over/in the water.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Studies building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations;
* Inspects structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe;
* Locates and marks position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in floating docks, walls and floors;
* Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings;
* Cuts and threads pipe and fuses HDPE Pipe;
* Makes connections with Pex Piping;
* Bends pipe to required angle by use of pipe-bending machine or by placing pipe over block and bending it by hand;
* Assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals, such as iron, steel, brass, and lead, and nonmetals, such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic;
* Joins pipes by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, Fusion Weld and caulks joints;
* Fills pipe system with water or air and reads pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking;
* Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, Sewer Pump Out equipment, Marine Pedestals and water softeners;
* Repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing washers in leaky equipment, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains;
* Welds holding fixtures to steel structural members.

Position and Responsibilities Overview
Performs the full range of Journeyman or Master Journeyman level duties for Plumbing in the construction, finishing, repair, etc. of buildings.
* Perform trade-specific tasks on a construction site.
* Oversee the productivity of crew.
* Ensure schedules and deadlines are met.
* Perform some layout activities.
* Perform some material takeoffs as necessary.
* Trade-related material, tool, and equipment requisitions.
* Perform planned maintenance tasks as assigned.
* Perform equipment start-up with associated documentation.
* Perform quality control inspections.
* Technical troubleshooting and diagnostics when needed.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* High school degree or GED preferred or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
* Journeyman or Master License required.
* Good physical condition and ability to stand for extended periods of time.
* Good dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
* Aptitude for technical problem-solving.
* Familiarity with building codes and current laws/regulations.
* Ability to maintain clean and orderly tools/work area.
* Good communication skills both verbal and written.
* Expert knowledge of trade tools, equipment, and materials.
* Keen eye for detail.
