Dementia & Memory Disorder Neurologist
Remote Hand Surgeon Job
Neura Health is a venture-backed startup with a mission to improve access and quality of care for neurologic conditions. Our longer-term vision is to find cures by learning from the experience of every neurology patient. We were inspired to create Neura because of two critical problems in neurology: access and quality. Access is subpar because there are not enough neurologists in the country, so the average wait time is 4-6 months, with patients often having to travel hours to access the right specialist. Quality is subpar because diagnoses are based on self-reported data with significant recency bias.
Neura has raised $10.3m in funding from top investors including Next Play Ventures (the fund of former LinkedIn CEO Jeff Weiner), Pear VC (Gusto, DoorDash), KDT (Path.AI), and Norwest Venture Partners (Calm, Talkspace).
Neura serves major neurological conditions including headache, migraine, sleep disorders, epilepsy, neurological pain, concussion, multiple sclerosis, and others. Our platform provides all the tools needed for a highly effective patient-provider relationship, with a goal to improve outcomes and reduce costs. Patients receive an engaging mobile app with a dedicated concierge to ensure that all their care needs are met.
At Neura Health, we are constantly looking for clinicians who want to work at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and some of the hardest problems in healthcare. We look for providers who are well-versed in the evidence-based treatment of neurological disorders, and who are empathetic, compassionate, mission-driven, collaborative, and results-oriented.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate and examine patients with memory complaints, provide them with a diagnosis and care plan that will help guide them toward their health goals.
Review labs and imaging that are appropriate for patient care
Provide follow-up appointments with patients on a regular basis to adjust medications.
Provide chat-based support to patients going through difficult journeys
Generate educational content in support of our online blogs and content library
Requirements:
M.D. or D.O.
ABPN certification or eligibility in Neurology
Specialty in Behavioral Neurology or Dementia care
Soft skills: listening, negotiating, decision-making, and leadership.
Culture fit: empathic, mission-driven, collaborative, precise, transparent, compassionate, and results-oriented.
Compensation & Hours:
Must be available for 8 hours per week to start, with the ability to increase hours
Hourly rate: $160/hr for appointments and cancellations not made within 12 hours
Neura offers our contract physicians equity so the total package is above market.
Once providers reach 8 hours/week, they will receive a standard equity grant, subject to our typical vesting schedule.
Based on performance, providers will have the option to receive an annual rate increase with Neura's standard performance review process. Similar to the entire company, raises and bonuses are contingent on individual and company performance.
Clinician performance factors in:
Provider ratings and clinical quality
Ease of collaboration with operations and concierge team, including policies like:
Giving operations team a 4 weeks notice on changes in weekly availability
Availability - where the provider stands against targets
Thoroughness of clinical documentation
Completion of handoff forms at or near 100%
To be eligible for these raises, providers must commit to a minimum of 8 hours/week on the Neura Health platform.
Licenses
Neura pays for licenses that it asks providers to get for Neura use. This includes regular prescription licenses and DEA licenses.
Per our contract language, 25 visits or more must be done using this license. Otherwise, the money for the license is due back to Neura.
Neura also pays a one-time payment of 4 hours to compensate the physician for the time it takes to complete paperwork for additional licenses.
If paperwork is not completed within a 1 week time frame of request, physician will forfeit payment.
Neura provides a $500 stipend for CME and other education needs.
This requires 6 months of longevity at Neura.
