A worker who welds together heavy structural metal components as specified by blueprints, work orders, or oral instructions under direct supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform high quality welding tasks using advanced Flux-Core techniques under the direction of the immediate supervisor.
Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures and components according to detailed blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
Execute complex welds in various positions, including flat, vertical, overhead, and horizontal, ensuring structural integrity and adherence to design specifications.
Successfully complete back-gouging, multi pass fillet welds, CJP welds, and meeting UT standards.
Maintain high levels of production and operate with minimal supervision.

Conduct thorough inspections of completed welds to ensure industry standards, codes, and customer requirements are met.
Identify and rectify defects or imperfections in welds with appropriate corrective action methods.
Set up and calibrate welding equipment.
Confirm temporary bracing is installed as needed to avoid distortion and remove bracing when complete.
Operate punches, grinders, drills, saws, oxy-fuel torches, plasma cutters, and other basic equipment & hand tools.
Move and/or organize materials as needed to support production tasks.
Maintain a clean and orderly workstation.
Qualifications and Requirements:
5+ years welding experience with some flux core welding (FCAW) with proved track record of high-quality work.
Valid driver's license.
Written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of basic shop mathematics.
Experience in heavy structural fabrication.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, shop drawings and welding symbols.
Proficient in effective operation of welding equipment.
Must pass welding test as part of the application process.
