As a Meta Technical Writer, you will be part of a team responsible for the quality, discoverability, and accuracy of content for internal technologies. You will conduct hands-on research and obtain necessary technical content from subject matter experts while translating it into clear, concise, structured documentation. Special Education Paraprofessionals should be self-starters, flexible, and intuitive in supporting the needs of students. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in the implementation of student's Individual Education Plans and support in the preparation and organization of instructional materials and equipment. Which may include: The implementation of a Behavior Implementation Plan (BIP) Assist with and/or perform personal care and hygiene activities as necessitated by the needs of the student. Will implement strategies and participate in ongoing training that prevents, minimizes, and manages behavioral challenges with dignity and safety for the student. This may include implementing the strategies and training received in crisis response including physical management as needed and when appropriate. Participating in training and supporting the implementation of alternate communication devices as needed and ensuring access across settings. Participate in verbal de-escalation and crisis management training provided by the Iowa City Community School District Maintain as requested student documentation, Medicaid logs, and progress monitoring. Support in the transition of students on and off the bus, as well as when needed riding the bus to support students based on student needs. All personnel supporting students with individual educational plans should anticipate supporting occasional and up to consistent bus riding and must complete bus rider training (to be provided upon hire).
