Working from home, time off in summer
Just laid off approximately half their staff due to low enrollment. Poorly managed with a focus on data, not students. Very rigid environment, lots of micromanagement. Many students in GCA struggle a great deal due to morale issues among employees. True lack of student focus by higher ups. High turnover rate with employees and students. Other publicly funded online programs in GA are run much more efficiently and effectively. Very unprofessional environment with nepotism and favoritism. Policies are followed depending on who you know. Raises given, then taken away due to enrollment crisis. Same for retirement options. Taken away in the middle of the school year. It greatly concerns me that this school continues to run on taxpayer dollars.
The people are wonderful. Even though it is a remote work environment, you can still build strong friendships.
The district staff is not good about building a culture that makes everyone feel valued. It seems like they make arbitrary decisions with no thought about the teachers.
