Your Role:
* Review, comprehend, prepare, and complete work scopes.
* Communicate on site conditions with senior staff and make field determinations based on site data.

Qualifications:

* Experience with aquifer performance testing, geophysical logging, and rock coring preferred.

**Job Description**
AECOM's growing Water business has an immediate need to for a Geophysicist/Geologist/Geoscientist to join our team based in Germantown, Maryland as part of the broader Geotechnical and Geophysics Group. This role includes participation in a broad range of engineering design and construction projects from concept development through to detailed design and construction. Our projects include some of the largest onshore and offshore, domestic and international civil infrastructure programs including wind and solar energy, pump storage energy facilities, combined sewer outfall tunnels, smart cities, defense facilities, dams, data centers, bridges and roadways.
**The responsibilities of this role include, but may not be limited to, the following:**
+ Undertaking geophysical, geological and geotechnical services including geophysical surveys, soils and materials testing, geologic mapping, vibration and settlement monitoring, soil boring and rock corings,
+ Implementing a wide variety of terrestrial, marine, borehole and aerial geophysical investigations including seismic refraction/reflection, MASW, GPR, electromagnetics, magnetics, microgravity, electrical resistivity imaging, utility mapping, borehole geophysical logging, downhole/crosshole seismic, bathymetric surveying, side scan sonar, sub-bottom profiling, marine magnetics, and marine seismic.
+ Conducting data collection, geological characterization, analysis and reporting
+ Assisting in the prepare project documentation including reports, project communications, and design drawings and report figures that are of a high professional standard.
+ Generally supporting project teams in achieving stated goals within the Water Division but also to the various business lines across the U.S. and Internationally,
+ Assisting with the water engineering sector proposals and tenders.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelors Degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
+ 2+ years of experienceas a Geophysicist/Geologist/Geoscientist
+ Experience conducting field work in a productive and safe manner
+ Ability to travel domestically and internationally for periods of two weeks at a time.
+ Knowledge of standard geophysical, geologic and engineering practices, techniques and procedures
+ Experience with GPS, GIS and land surveying data collection and analysis.
+ Geophysical, geological and geotechnical software (i.e. SeisImager, ParkSeis, EarthImager, Radan, Surfer, Geosoft Oasis montaj, gINT, ArcGIS, SonarWiz, HyPack, AutoCAD and /or MicroStation)
**Preferred Qualification**
+ MS in Geophysics/Geology/Geoscience is favorable
+ Knowledge and experience implementing a wide range of geophysical and geological investigations including surface geophysics, borehole geophysics, airborne geophysics, marine geophysics and geologic mapping.
+ Desire to pursue PG license is favorable
+ Documented successful planning, organizational, communications and documentation skills desired

About you
Bachelor of Science (BS) and 2+ years experience or Master of Science and 1+ year experience in a relevant science discipline (geology, environmental science or related) and 40-hr HAZWOPER training with documented record of refresher training
Effective written/verbal communication, organization/analytical skills, database comprehension, and GIS skills
Detail-oriented with mechanical aptitude for trouble-shooting/problem-solving on the fly
Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel up to 30% with valid driver's license, and work independently with minimal supervision on project based tasks
The physical requirements of this position may include the need for climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing/sitting/walking, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 40 lbs. Job Description
AECOM's growing Water business has an immediate need to for a Geophysicist/Geologist/Geoscientist to join our team based in Germantown, Maryland as part of the broader Geotechnical and Geophysics Group. This role includes participation in a broad range of engineering design and construction projects from concept development through to detailed design and construction. Our projects include some of the largest onshore and offshore, domestic and international civil infrastructure programs including wind and solar energy, pump storage energy facilities, combined sewer outfall tunnels, smart cities, defense facilities, dams, data centers, bridges and roadways.
The responsibilities of this role include, but may not be limited to, the following:
Undertaking geophysical, geological and geotechnical services including geophysical surveys, soils and materials testing, geologic mapping, vibration and settlement monitoring, soil boring and rock corings,
Implementing a wide variety of terrestrial, marine, borehole and aerial geophysical investigations including seismic refraction/reflection, MASW, GPR, electromagnetics, magnetics, microgravity, electrical resistivity imaging, utility mapping, borehole geophysical logging, downhole/crosshole seismic, bathymetric surveying, side scan sonar, sub-bottom profiling, marine magnetics, and marine seismic.
Conducting data collection, geological characterization, analysis and reporting
Assisting in the prepare project documentation including reports, project communications, and design drawings and report figures that are of a high professional standard.
Generally supporting project teams in achieving stated goals within the Water Division but also to the various business lines across the U.S. and Internationally,

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Geology or related science
2+ years of post-graduation relevant experience in environmental consulting (i.e., Remedial Investigations and Site Assessments) for Federal, State, or private clients. e or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Must have a valid US driver's license.

Under the supervision of a Project Manager, the successful candidate will:
Use scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems within a defined scope.
Plan, execute, analyze and report on environmental investigations in natural systems.
Apply standard field practices and techniques using basic field equipment to collect samples of soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water, and sediment; prepare samples for shipping; maintain daily logs; and complete chain-of-custody or similar paperwork.
After training, perform unsupervised field tasks.
Direct staff in the execution of tasks.
