Salary Range: $20.65/hr. - 29.94/hr. * Placement within the salary range is dependent on direct experience, internal equity and/or budget * Performs general street maintenance which includes grading of roadways, grading of shoulders, culvert repair and maintenance, street sweeping, drainage channel maintenance, bridge de-icing, and mowing * May perform general street maintenance which includes removing and replacing concrete and/ or asphalt, patching potholes, and sealing cracks. Salary Range: $20.65/hr. - 29.94/hr. Placement within the salary range is dependent on direct experience, internal equity and/or budget Examples of Duties Performs general street maintenance which includes grading of roadways, grading of shoulders, culvert repair and maintenance, street sweeping, drainage channel maintenance, bridge de-icing, and mowing May perform general street maintenance which includes removing and replacing concrete and/ or asphalt, patching potholes, and sealing cracks. (Note: This occurs when assisting asphalt and concrete crews) Operates a variety of trucks and heavy equipment in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures: belly dump, flatbed trailer, 10 wheel dump truck, kick broom, grader, loader, backhoe, gannon box, steel roller, rubber roller, etc. Inspects and maintains equipment, blue staking, inventory, and processes work orders in Cartegraph Inspects, cleans and performs routine maintenance work on trucks and equipment Completes required daily logs and enters reports Identifies and reports mechanical problems Tracks and manages materials and supplies Required on-call rotation Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalency Over three years experience in road maintenance, construction, or related field operating heavy equipment Must possess an Arizona (Class A) Commercial Driver License (CDL) w/Tanker Endorsement or must obtain within 6 months of employment Subject to random testing per DOT (FMSCA) requirements Must pass a pre-employment physical, a 50-pound lift test, and audiogram Ability to pass both the Town of Marana background check and a motor vehicle records check An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills & abilities to successfully perform essential functions may be considered PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Equipment transport - transport, haul and/or drive equipment Surveying experience - shoot grade Computer base work-order experience RECRUITMENT PROCESS If you meet the minimum requirements, submit a completed Town of Marana application which can be supplemented with a resume and cover letter.
