Summary:
We are seeking Substation Construction Foremen to join our T&D Services team in Alabama and Georgia. This position is a working position, and will be accountable for the safety, quality, and production of all crew members on assigned construction projects.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Supervise performance of substation construction and maintenance. This includes trenching, installing conduit, pulling cable, wiring of outdoor electrical equipment, installing ground grids, installing foundations, setting steel structures, installing buswork and conductors, welding aluminum buswork, setting and adjusting air switches, installing circuit breakers, and setting main power transformers.
* Operate aerial lifts, forklifts, skidsteers, backhoes, excavators, boom trucks, and other equipment used in the construction of electrical substations.
* Must know and understand state and local laws, DOT, and OSHA standards
* Perform services in a safe and timely manner.
* Must be able to understand and complete required paperwork and documentation of the services.
* Communicates with customers, property owners, general public, other contractors, utility representatives, and government agencies.
* Maintain and track crew working hours and production. Will be responsible for submitting billing to customer on a weekly basis.
* Coordinate necessary outages with clients.
* Maintain company equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Will directly supervise a crew of 4 to 12 employees. Will be responsible for training and coaching crew members.
Requirements:
* Clean driving record, Class A Commercial Driver's License preferred.
* Ability to read and interpret prints and plans.
* Effective communication skills.
* Experience working in energized substations and be able to distinguish energized live parts.
* Utility Substation and Transmission Line Switching & Tagging experience a plus.
* Certified Crane Operator a plus.

* Pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.
Education and Experience:
* High School Diploma or GED.

Position Summary:
The Traffic Sign Foreman position is a full-time position with direct responsibility for personnel, equipment, scheduling, safety and quality. The Foreman will supervise and work alongside a crew of employees and occasionally subcontractors installing and constructing roadway sign projects, including but not limited to maintenance of traffic (MOT), excavation, backfill, reinforcing steel and concrete placement. A Foreman will oversee and lead one specific concrete project at a time and manage a crew of 3-10 field employees. The Foreman must always ensure a safe and efficient workplace. This position is responsible for the coordination of tasks for their employees according to current project needs, produce schedules for team members, and supervise the use of machinery. As the liaison between employees and Job Superintendent, the Foreman will be the key person in charge of overseeing the completion of the project with a keen awareness of material expenses and employee safety.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate with Field Superintendent and/or Project Manager to schedule job tasks and equipment.
Coordinate daily tasks and schedules according to priorities and plans, adjusting as necessary due to weather, supply delivery, and personnel
Continually provide updates to the Job Site Superintendent and Canyon Management on project status and communicate any needs at the job site.
Must review and comprehend project scope of work, submittals, and continually review all drawings including all RFIs/ASIs and shop drawings, i.e; Rebar, Elevator and Embeds.
Required to write and submit at the jobsite a Daily Report summarizing the day's activities.
Responsible to place concrete and material orders through Canyon website for assigned job as necessary.
Develop and present a two week look ahead for the project at the weekly internal scheduling meeting.
Required to hold weekly safety toolbox talks with emphasis on worksite safety and safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment.
Ensure that daily huddles are held each day to include stretch and flex, hazard analysis, and the daily work assignments.
Develop and oversee quality standards on the job site.
Resolve problems with projects, materials, and employees as they arise.
Resolve conflicts or miscommunication that may happen on-site quickly and amicably.
Build and develop trusting relationships with current customers and seek to identify opportunities to grow our customer base and build positive relationships.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
5+ years' experience in the concrete construction industry.
Prior experience managing 5 or more employees on a job site.
Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints and convey this information to others.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities.
OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
CPR required.

**Summary**
