Job Summary The Construction Foreman performs the duties of the Construction Worker II (Lead) and simultaneously manages the production of multiple construction (repair) projects as well as in-house labor. The Construction Foreman works hand-in-hand with the Superintendent and/or Operations Manager and is responsible for collaborating with subcontractors in determining scope of work and price negotiations. This position reports to the Operations Manager or Superintendent Key Responsibilities Core responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Oversees the work supervised by Superintendents generally outsourced to subcontractors and interfaces regularly with other departments as required. Reports any communications with adjusters, customers, co-workers, and/or contractors -relevant to scope of work, expectations, timelines. Assist with negotiating pricing, confer, and obtain approval to proceed from Superintendent. Oversees work performed by subcontractors to ensure work performed as agreed to and to customer satisfaction. Develops means of tracking and monitoring subcontractor work; follow-up regularly and update job records. Provides detailed, written reports on daily progress to Superintendent for CRISP report. Works with Project Directors and Superintendents to develop budgets and schedules for repair projects. Gathers, reviews, and submits all documents and work orders in order to bill in a timely manner. Maintains and updates job budgets and schedules in collaboration with Superintendent. Schedules subcontractors to perform work on the jobs. Assists Superintendent with evaluating subcontractor performance, report deficiencies, and address corrective actions. Obtains permits through local agencies as necessary Supports the Company's safe workplace policies and practices and promotes adherence. Experience/ Requirements The position of Construction Foreman requires the following: Experience in commercial construction performing supervisory or superintendent duties, specific to construction and/or restoration/mitigation loss. OSHA 10 certified Hands-on experience in defining projects budgets, including tracking/monitoring and reporting. Requires a Valid Driver's License, with driving record in good standing. Industry related certifications are a plus. Experience in developing and maintaining strong customer relations, building on company reputation. Ability to communicate (verbal and written) at all levels Possess excellent time management skills, can set priorities and meet deadlines. Computer experience in MS Outlook and other programs, can produce basic excel and word documents. (Xactimate is a plus) Working Conditions Working conditions for this position include but are not limited to: Occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) Required OT for scheduled work, after hour response and weekends options available Occasionally having to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) depending on the situation / claim Daily commuting is required Occasional travel to support project needs Safety Requirements: Regulatory Requirements: Adhere to all local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards. The Grading Foreman is a field position that is responsible to organize and lead a crew to safely and efficiently perform mass earthwork balancing. As the liaison between workers and supervisors, the Grade Foreman is the key person in charge of overseeing the completion of the project and must be able to see the “big picture” at all times. Essential Functions: Builds job by plans and specifications as directed by supervisor. Prior to starting work activities, develops and executes an effective plan in cooperation with the Superintendent for his area of responsibility and determines the means and methods necessary (including individual work activities) to meet project goals. Preplans and schedules grading activities on a daily basis as required. Knowledgeable of inspection requirements and material or equipment requirements. Prepares or assists the Superintendent in the preparation of daily reports, work unit quantity reports, equipment reports, and receipt of materials. Assures quality control and compliance of grading activity under his/her supervision. Directly supervises grading crew. Experienced on all types of heavy equipment for dirt and site projects. Knowledgeable in the areas of dirt work, including excavation, grade work, surveying and final excavating work. Reads, understands, and interprets drawings and specifications. Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent Working knowledge of applicable standards, specifications, codes, regulations and laws 5+ years prior work-related experience as a grading/excavation foreman. Experienced on all types of heavy equipment for dirt and site projects. Knowledgeable in the areas of dirt work, including excavation, grade work, surveying and final excavating work.
