Foreman - Shop {Direct}
Foreman Job 30 miles from Helena
Responsible for the supervision of a single shift work unit activities of the surface shop. This includes knowledge and examination of main mine fans, production hoists and service hoists for both underground and surface locations for these critical infrastructure facilities.
Job Qualifications:
Candidates for this position must have a maintenance background. Must be capable
of reading electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical prints for assembly and troubleshooting purposes. MSHA electrical certification preferred underground and surface. Welding and fabrication skills are preferred. Must have current Alabama state hoisting certification or the ability to obtain within 3 months of starting position.
Underground or surface mine foreman certifications are required. Willingness and ability to work
from heights and confined spaces wearing fall protection. Willingness and ability to climb stairs equivalent of 15 story building multiple times per day. Will require working outdoors in all climate along with muddy, wet, greasy conditions in confined quarters in production shafts. Crane operators, rigging and millwright experience are definite pluses.
Technical Responsibilities:
Directly supervises shift maintenance activities of surface shop, production hoists, service hoists, main mine ventilating fans for both underground and surface areas of these facilities. Direct and coordinate various specialty maintenance contractors providing support to groups.
Ensure maximum efficiencies are achieved from employees supervised, adherence to work schedules, equipment availability goals are met, and unproductive employees and issues are identified, and problems resolved. Willingness and ability to perform other assigned duties by your supervisor.
