THE JOB: TransPremier is looking for a Milling Machine Foreman to manage the milling crew members, quality control support, logistics in a safe, efficient, and responsible manner. The ideal candidate has a proven track-record of operating a milling machine and has a strong knowledge of asphalt operations. The foreman should be a detail-oriented, safety-driven professional who excels in high-pressure situations under extreme weather conditions. The candidate must have a flexible schedule and be able to workdays, nights, and/or weekends at various local locations. Requirements WHAT YOU'LL DO: • Complete optimum utilization of equipment and labor maximizing production. • Provides direction, training, and assistance to the milling crew. • Visit job sites to ascertain progress in meeting time schedules, to detect insufficient utilization of workers and equipment. • Measures slope and depths to verify compliance with contracts and to supervise the job. • Communicates daily with Project Manager or Project Superintendent to discuss schedule and production needs. • Be a team player and work alongside fellow milling crew members. • Synchronize with fellow crew members, customers, and dump trucks to load millings into truck bed. • Ensure a safe work environment by inspecting all surroundings and minimizing any safety liabilities. • Complete daily equipment inspections and maintenance. • Make sure the milling machine is washed and maintained after every shift worked. • Operate other equipment and tools as needed to ensure the completion of the assigned project. • Wear PPE always, in accordance with company safety policy • Comply with last minute dispatch changes. • Ensures the safety of crew members and the public who may interact with job. • Report directly to Superintendent POSITION QUALIFICATION/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: At least 1 year of previous related experience required. Dependability & flexibility; a complete crew determines the success of this operation. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under extreme weather conditions. Strong knowledge of asphalt operations and DOT regulations Ability to thrive in teamwork environments. Professional, courteous, and safety-driven work ethic Strong customer service skills Great communication skills Fluent in English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to repeatedly move/lift 50 lbs. and climb in and out of heavy equipment. Ability to work and maintain alert around dirt, dust, and noise associated with heavy equipment, and during all weather conditions. May require sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods of time. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate equipment.
