Train and mentor team members on best practices, safety procedures, and technical skills. Maintain project documentation, including work logs, material usage, and progress reports. Troubleshoot and resolve any job site challenges effectively. Tech-savvy with general knowledge of CRM systems; experience with Buildertrend is a plus. Qualifications Minimum 5+ years of experience in construction, site work, or landscaping. Proven experience leading construction crews in a foreman or supervisory role. Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation (excavators, skid steers, loaders, etc.). Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and grading stakes. Hands-on experience with grading, excavation, drainage, and hardscaping. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing job site conditions. Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards (OSHA 10 minimum, OSHA 30 preferred). Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required). Definition of a Working Foreman: Supervises and works with a small group (normally ranging from 3-10) of journeyman craftsmen, workers at a lower skill level and/or laborers. Makes work assignments, enforces safety regulations, maintains discipline, orders supplies and equipment, and reviews work of the crew assigned to him during progress and upon completion for compliance with instructions and conformance with accepted trade practices. The working foreman of journeyman must be skilled in the trade being supervised. In all cases performs the same type of work as individuals supervised. The title is derived either from the occupation supervised, e.g., Working Foreman Carpenter, Working Foreman Laborer, or from the operation supervised where different occupations are supervised and none predominates, e.g., Incinerator Working Foreman. Preparing surfaces for painting by washing or scraping paint from old surfaces and placing putty in nail holes and around windows; painting exterior woodwork, trim, etc.; painting and redecorating ceilings, walls, interior woodwork, and fixtures; mixing paints and matching colors; applying decorative or protective coats of varnish, lacquer, or enamel to furniture; stripping and refinishing old furniture; when required, assisting in rigging and moving any necessary scaffolding. 2 years of experience required in related work.
