About the role: We are looking for value-aligned individuals to lead small teams and perform skilled services related to home maintenance and repairs. Working as a foreman for Surv will require good communication skills as you coordinate with office staff to schedule jobs and update scope. You will also act as an advocate for our Neighbors, communicating issues and changes as they surface.
Core Responsibilities:
Responsible for the maintenance and security of all Surv tools, vehicles, and equipment
Cultivating confidence in workers through training and provision of tools and equipment
Owning operational efficiency; constantly thinking of ways to improve speed and quality of work
Responsible for the well-being and development of 3-5 project managers
Complete general maintenance work
Quality assurance
Follow workplace health and safety rules
Handle complaints professionally
Log and report jobsite expenses daily

Fred Smith Company is currently searching for experienced Asphalt Plant Foreman for our Triangle plants. The successful candidates will have one to three years experience with the techniques required for producing and manufacturing various designs of asphalt.
JOB DUTIES & REQUIREMENTS:
* Create an atmosphere whereby subordinates are encouraged to improve their skill set and maintain a high level of morale for themselves and other employees
* See that crew starts working on time and ensure that they work the number of hours for which they are paid
* Assist and direct crew in the following areas: using equipment in a safe and proper manner, improving job performance, controlling cost, improving quality of work, increasing productivity, improving communications, and perform housekeeping of project
* Participate in the periodic evaluation of all assigned personnel; discussing their contributions to the company as well as their development
* Supervise and direct the activities of assigned personnel in the performance of their duties, directing and instruction them in the proper orientation, technique, use, and maintenance of equipment
* See that all new personnel receive proper orientation to acquaint them with the company in policies, procedures, and safety requirements
* Develop a cooperative working relationship with all operators and project managers, superintendents, and other foremen. Foreman is also expected to cooperate and comply with the Human Resources and Risk Management departments being knowledgeable as to all aspects of EEO and safety. Foreman must comply with all requirements and insist upon compliance among all subordinates
* Conduct a continuous evaluation of the following items: cost/yields, materials, plans and schedules, salaries, promotions, job assignments, equipment changes and needs, and quality control. Foreman must relate any problems/changes/recommendations to Operations Manager or Superintendent
* Ensure all work undertaken complies with all local laws, ordinances, and EPA regulations concerning the manufacture of all asphalt materials and related activities
* Maintain close contact and a good working relationship with the general public, engineers, inspectors, and customers to facilitate job progress and promote a positive company image. Foreman must be courteous and have a considerate attitude towards these groups
* Perform equipment inspections, request further maintenance, or repairs as needed
* Make and maintain all required reports, verify their correctness and transmit them promptly to Operations Manager or Superintendent
* Perform other duties as assigned
* Must have valid driver's license with positive driving history
* Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
KNOWLEDGE:
This position requires thorough knowledge of specialized field of asphalt, extensive computer knowledge, and the ability to use a variety of precision measuring instruments. Foreman must have a working knowledge of mix design and quality control associated with this field.
Foreman must be able to understand specifications and maintenance/repairs associated with supervisory responsibilities.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:
Position requires the ability to climb onto and into vehicles to stoop, kneel, crouch, lift and grasp. Position requires sitting, standing and walking for sustained periods of time and long distances. Position requires ability to express ideas by means of the spoken word and the ability to perceive sounds and receive detailed information through oral communications.
