POSITION SUMMARY: All Five seeks a passionate and adaptable EC Teacher with Site Supervisor permit committed to: ● engaging in best practices for building strong, respectful relationships with children and colleagues ● contributing to a collaborative teaching team ● partnering with families ● teaching in a mixed-age classroom setting All Five Teachers demonstrate care and respect for each child's growth and development journey while providing high quality care and education within a full-day program. All Five operates from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. This position requires at least 8 full hours per day of work in the classroom. RESPONSIBILITIES: ● Practice and model appropriate interaction and respect for each child, including setting limits with the goal of helping children internalize self-regulation and build social skills. ● Practice taking the initiative to understand children's needs and how the environment can serve their needs and interests. ● Demonstrate a collaborative and reflective stance towards planning and providing an engaging early education program based on an emergent curriculum model. ● Create and manage a healthy, organized, exciting, and safe environment, indoors and out. ● Become part of a team of 3-4 teachers in a mixed age classroom of up to 20 children between 2 years 9 months old and their entry into kindergarten. ● Collaborate with the larger preschool program, including two additional classes of the same makeup as above, especially in the outside environment. ● Engage in weekly team meetings, monthly staff meetings, and generate ideas for professional development days. ● Foster strong relationships with families by maintaining open communication and demonstrating mutual respect. ● Respond to children's challenging behavior, sometimes repeated, with calm, flexibility, and a positive attitude. ● Maintain composure and positive attitude in high-stress situations. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: ● Bend, kneel, and otherwise interact with small children; be able to spend time on bent knees to continue eye contact with them. ● Sit on the floor with children. ● Lift and hold children up to 40 pounds and lift equipment up to 20 pounds. ● Move your body up and down from the floor to standing, from small chairs to standing, quickly and frequently. ● Successfully pass a physical exam, including a negative TB test or questionnaire, and provide proof of immunization for pertussis, measles, covid, and flu. WORKING CONDITIONS: ● Both indoors and outdoors in children's play areas, including during cold or rainy weather and hot and sunny weather. ● Regular exposure to children's illnesses. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS: ● Site Supevisor permit from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. ● 12+ ECE semester credits per TItle 22 requirements required. ● Associates or Bachelors in Early Childhood Education or related subject preferred. ● Show pursuit of ongoing professional growth opportunities. ● Certified in CPR and First Aid. DESIRED EXPERIENCE: ● Experience managing or co-teaching with other teachers in a classroom. ● Experience working with a diverse population of families and children.
