JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Models and directs employees to ensure customer service standards are met.Delivers an exceptional cooking class experience at every class using recipes and game plans provided.Stays informed by maintaining product knowledge, accesses available training and seeks out additional resources when necessary.Ensures high standards of sanitation and cleanliness are maintained throughout the experience. PART TIME DIETARY COOK - DAY SHIFT 5:30AM - 1:30PM
The primary purpose of your position is to prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations with our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Dietary Director, to assure that quality food service is provided at all times.
1. Administrative Functions
a. Review menus prior to preparation of food.
b. Inspect special diet trays to assure that the correct diet is served to the resident.
c. Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submit to the Dietary Director.
d. Coordinate food service with other departments as necessary.
e. Work with the Facility's dietitian and implement recommended changes as required.
f. Ensure that all food procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
g. Assist in standardizing the methods in which work will be accomplished.
h. Assume the authority, responsibility, and accountability of Cook.
i. Ensure that menus are maintained and filed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
j. Assist in establishing food service production line, etc., to assure that meals are prepared on time.
k. Process diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services.

2. Food Service Functions

g. Be sure that appropriate equipment and utensils are provided with the resident's meal tray.
h. Prepare and serve substitute foods to residents who refuse foods served.
i. Assist in serving meals and on a timely basis.
j. Make only authorized food substitutions.
k. Assist in food preparation for special meals, for parties, etc.

Previous experience in a food service or kitchen environment is preferred but not required.
