Title: Food Service Helper/Floater
Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the building Principal, to assist in maintaining an orderly and safe atmosphere in the cafeteria, on the playground, and in other designated locations by helping and supervising students at mealtime and playtime in accordance with Board policy and established district procedures.
Essential Functions:
Assists in supervising students in the cafeteria during mealtime.
Assists in making sure that tables and surrounding areas are clean.
Assists in supervising the playground/classroom during the lunch hour.
Assists students with orderly food purchases, distribution of food, disposal of food waste, and return of trays and utensils.
Ensures that students remain seated in assigned areas throughout their time in the cafeteria.
Circulates among assigned tables during the mealtime to be available as needed.
Organizes groups of students for orderly dismissal from the cafeteria.
Assists with supervising students in libraries, and escorting students to and from school buses.
Reports to teachers, principal, nurse and/or security personnel as appropriate regarding infractions, safety concerns, injuries, or other issues involving students.
Additional Duties
May distribute textbooks, supplies or other materials as requested.
May collect count and deposit food services program monies.
Performs other related tasks as assigned.

The Primary Functions are:
Take and serve orders
Enter guest orders using resort POS systems
Know the sequence of service and follow it each time when approaching a table
Prepare tables with special attention to sanitation and presentation

Perform opening and closing duties
Maintain table settings, cleanliness and service throughout the course of the meal
Present check in a timely manner
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Greet guests in the dining room and take all food orders in an efficient manner, following the established steps of service.
* Maintain an understanding of all menu items and ingredients and assist guests with any dietary or preparation questions and suggestions.
* Communicate directly with the back of the house crew to ensure that orders are delivered correctly, and all special requests are addressed and accommodated.
* Deliver food promptly, professionally, and within LOCATION established service expectations, including maintaining safe food handling, alcohol service, and sanitation standards.
* Promptly address and correct any complaints or issues. Relay relevant information or complaints directly to supervisor.
* Understand LOCATION POS and F&B ticketing system software and correctly enter each order. Collect tickets, follow proper cash handling, and tip pool procedures.
* Ensure that the dining room/area is properly set up prior to and after service period. Keep clean and neat while meeting all established sanitation standards.
* May be asked to operate equipment, including iced tea/soda machine, soup well, coffee machine, fire extinguisher, etc.
* Maintain safe food handling and sanitation standards and assist with bussing tables during down periods.

Responsibilities
* Responsible for greeting the guests upon entry
* Check guests purchased tickets and Escort guests to table
* Responsible for maintaining stock and supply levels, and communicating to the Resturant Manger of low stock items
* Listening and responding to customer requests or concerns
* Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized workspace including but not limited to disposal of garbage, bussing tables & cleaning dishes
* Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas
Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent preferred
* Must be 18 or over
* Three or more months experience in food service industry preferred
* Previous Hostess experience preferred
* Ability to learn to operate corresponding system
* Excellent interpersonal skills & a friendly, positive attitude with co-workers, managers, volunteers & guests
