Subsistence and Materials Management: Receive, inspect, and store food and materials per FDA Food Code 2022 and VHA standards. Verify order accuracy, inspect for quality, label, rotate, and store stock properly. Lift up to 50 pounds and follow mandated handling procedures. Sanitation and Cleaning: Clean and sanitize dining tables, chairs, and benches to maintain availability. Replenish dining supplies (napkins, condiments, etc.) for customers. Follow proper cleaning methods and local policies for surface sanitization. Compliance: Adhere to all federal, FDA, VHA, and local policies and procedures to ensure safety and quality standards. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in food service or a similar environment preferred. Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact positively with veterans, staff, and visitors. Physical ability to perform tasks that require prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting of heavy items. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
