Job Summary:
A F&P Machine Operator is a professional who is responsible for operating their assigned machinery. They ensure their machine runs smoothly, works at capacity without issue and is appropriately maintained.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Run various converting equipment including but not limited to:
Slitter machine
Laminating machine
Rotary die cutter
Flatbed die cutter
Rewind tables for product inspection
Inspect labels for defects
Perform all required quality checks
Package labels for shipment
Complete required paperwork
Use QAD to issue/receive product to work orders and print core/box labels
Complete miscellaneous tasks as requested
Skills/Abilities:
Prior production/manufacturing experience preferred
High level of attention to detail and accuracy
Demonstrated ability to process product within quality and productivity standards
Must be able to read and understand all associated paperwork and tools
Slitting / Laminating experience preferred
Rotary die cutting experience preferred

Summary of This Role

Reviews production samples with leadership and/or senior level operator during production to ensure adherence to client specifications and quality checklists.
Packages finished product in cartons, boxes, or pallets, as directed and reviews completed packaging with more experienced operators to ensure adherence to ticket instructions, prior to routing for shipment.
Learns to document/enter job information such as material usage/scrap and production time required for cost tracking/client billing.

Safety • Responsibilities in this area are to comply with safety rules and to report any unsafe conditions to the facility supervisor immediately. • Make sure all power and air to the machine is off before performing ANY repairs. • Able to execute daily and weekly Preventative Maintenance (PM). • Never operate the machine without all doors and guards in place. • Keep floor around machine and holding tanks clean and clear of any debris especially gel. B. Quality 1. Responsibilities in this area include ensuring: • The maximum amount of air is removed from the bag without risking seal integrity. • The consistency or viscosity of gel is present. • Weak or uncompleted seals are rejected and corrected. • Pin holes or burned seals are rejected and corrected. • Film has good print quality and is of the correct thickness. • Check the units produced from the machine at the weigh station to ensure they are both the proper weights and dimension EVERY 20 MINUTES. Document this by completing the 'Gel Production Quality Control Report.' • Oversee packers to ensure the proper number of units is packed in each case. • The packer should place units in the case label up in a manner where they are not at risk of tearing on the box/partition and then flatten each pack in the case. • Oversee Stackers to ensure the correct palletizing pattern is be used and shippers are properly taped closed. C. Productivity 1. Responsibilities in this area include: • Each operator is considered the team leader of their machine. * Adhere to all safety regulations with regard to company policies and legal regulations
* Produce high quality products in a timely manner with lowest scrap possible
* Adhere to applicable ISO Work Instructions and properly complete production forms
Accountabilities:
* Responsible for accurate completion of all job orders.
* Ensures Production schedule is followed and Service Level attained
* Ensures correct quality specifications are adhered to
* Compliance with Corporate and Local departmental KPI's and Quality standards.
Job Specifications:
* Work performed in a fast-paced production setting.
* Required to lift up to 40 lbs.
* Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, and reach and move about facility.
* Wearing of company furnished smock is mandatory.
* Occasional travel, including international.
* Requires normal hand, eye, and walking coordination.
* Must be able to work a flexible schedule including overtime and weekends as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
* High School Diploma
* Greater than 2 years experience operating equipment in a mailing area is preferred
* Mechanical troubleshooting skills are required
* Mathematical ability required
* Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, SAP, IQ is preferred
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
* Able to work independently or as a team member
* Attention to detail and hand-eye coordination
