Responsibilities The role of the Aircraft Rescue Firefighter (ARFF) is to provide basic fire prevention and suppression services to all City of Dayton Aviation facilities and to provide emergency medical and rescue services as needed. Duties include responding to fire alarms, providing emergency care where warranted, conducting rescue efforts involving aircraft passengers and crew members, and the care, cleaning and general maintenance of fire equipment and apparatus. The ARFF engages in regular training and drills in order to further develop and maintain firefighting proficiency while also participating in fire prevention education programs. Incumbents will also inspect commercial, industrial and other buildings for fire hazards, efficiency of fire protection equipment, adequacy of exits and fire escapes and general compliance with fire prevention laws, in addition to other job duties.
Candidates with previous experience in Aircraft Fire Rescue are preferred.
Minimum Qualifications Must be a high school graduate or possess a G.E.D. at time of application. Age Must be at least 18 years of age at time of appointment. Job Summary

Education, Experience and Certifications
Successful completion of a Paramedic Training Program (OEMS approved) required. Current North Carolina Paramedic Certification required (National registry preferred). Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS required. Affiliation with an EMS agency is required to maintain National Registry Paramedic certification. North Carolina state certified paramedics will follow state mandated education requirements for initial and ongoing certification which do not require EMS agency affiliation. NAUTO drive cam A.I. Stair chairs, Reeves stretchers, and manual lift-assists are always on-hand for the more difficult moves and transfers. Antimicrobial dome lighting is available in every patient compartment of our vehicles to continually disinfect surfaces and hard to reach crevices for additional safety and infection control. Medical Direction and Clinical Protocols provided by UH EMS Institute.
On-site Mechanics are available weekly to provide timely repairs, PMs, to company vehicles, and employee vehicles when time permits. Porters are also provided throughout the workweek to take over the Ambulances at the end of shifts to provide deep cleaning and detailing while the hardworking EMTs are free to go about their day or evening.
