    The primary function of this role is to perform NFPA based inspections of water-based fire systems and fire alarm systems. The Company goal is to continuously grow the revenues of Inspections while maintaining profits, satisfying customer's requirements, and staying compliant with NFPA guidelines. This job requires the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced multi-tasked environment with a focus towards customer development and support, quality work performance, and an understanding of all the necessary NFPA codes that support each fire system. It will require travel to customer sites. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Perform NFPA 25 based inspections on wet, dry, deluge, pre-action, standpipe systems, fire hydrants, and fire pumps. Perform NFPA 72 based inspections on fire alarm systems, including all components of those systems. Perform NFPA 10 based inspections on fire extinguishers. Perform basic troubleshooting of wet based fire systems and describe them to owners and service managers for repairs. Perform basic troubleshooting of fire alarm systems. Monitor and assure progress and completion of all assigned tasks. Complete and submit all work tickets and inspection reports to administrative personnel in a timely manner. Responsible for self-scheduling of daily inspections. Up-sell Company capabilities to new and existing customers. Perform inspections from man lifts at elevations of 30 to 40 feet from ground level, as necessary. Perform annual inspections on both domestic and fire backflows. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Individual backflow license is a plus. Knowledge of NFPA 10, 25, and 72 is required. Basic mechanical skills, including the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues is required. Ability to obtain all required certifications, including NICET is required. NICET Level II in water based or fire alarm systems is a plus. Ability to lift up to 100 pounds is required. Basic experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) applications is required. Experience utilizing a tablet, smart phone, and/or other technology is required. Ability to think strategically, make sound decisions, and produce accurate and timely results is required.     The Amentum Antarctica Assistant Fire Chief supports the National Science Foundation's (NSF) United States Antarctic Program (USAP) and will report to the Fire Chief. The Assistant Fire Chief performs the duties outlined below and any other duties as assigned by the Fire Chief IAW US Air Force, NFPA, PWS criteria and any other applicable industry standards/criteria. The additional duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive. Position Responsibilities: Responds to large-scale emergencies and makes decisions related to emergency management and fireground operations to include evaluating and directing emergency operations to protect life and property IAW US Air Force, NFPA and PWS criteria. Plans, coordinates, supervises and evaluates fire and EMS operations. Prepares records and reports of fire department responses to fires or other emergencies, personnel actions, and other information as may be required. Assists in the preparation and presentation of an annual budget for the Antarctica Fire Department (AFD); oversees the implementation of the department's budget; plans for and reviews specifications for new or other replacement equipment. Supervises the firefighter health and safety programs including development and implementation. Manages the comprehensive occupational medical evaluation program and other programs that are directed to improve the health and safety of department personnel. Interview, hires and evaluates new candidates. Supervises the Fire Prevention Program including developing facility inspection schedule for all sites and ensuring inspections are conducted IAW, NFPA, PWS and other applicable criteria. If an individual is contacted for services outside of EMCOR's normal application process - it is probably fraudulent. **Qualifications** **Education** **Required** + High School or better **Preferred** + Technical/other training or better **Experience** **Required** + Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and scissors or articulating lifts required. + Basic mechanical skills, including the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues required. + Working knowledge of the operational characteristics of the following Fire Protection Systems required: wet, dry, foam, deluge, pre-action, standpipe, fire hydrants, and fire pumps. + Knowledge of NFPA codes that support each fire system required:- Perform NFPA 25 based inspections on wet, dry, deluge, pre-action, and fire pumps.- Perform NFPA 25 based inspections on standpipe systems and fire hydrants. **Preferred** + Perform NFPA 72 based inspections on fire alarm systems, including all components of those systems. + Individual backflow license and NICET Level II in water based or fire alarm systems.
