Salary -and Duty Location Recruitment Incentives- and Benefits Annual Base Salary for newly appointed CBPOs varies as follows: GL-5 $49,739-$61,833 GL-7 $56,623-$71,615 GL-9 $63,148-$81,480 Locality pay varies by duty location. A fully trained CBP Officer is eligible for up to $45,000 in overtime pay in addition to the starting salary. Grade level eligibility and salaries vary depending upon background, including experience and education, and duty location of the opportunity. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 10 pounds and sometimes more than10 pounds and rarely over 50 pounds. The employee must frequently climb a ladder. Specific vision abilities are required to do this job including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must frequently drive an automobile. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes, loud noise, airborne particles and both hot and cold temperatures. Salary Range: $30 - 40 an hour, depending on experience. Bonus: Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
