**The Fire and Landscape Adaptive Management and Ecology lab (FLAME) within the Precision Forestry Cooperative (PFC) seeks seasonal field technicians for a summer data collection effort in the Lassen National Forest, CA.** The technicians will participate in a post-fire oak regeneration and lidar burn severity project. Field data collection will involve locating and re-measuring a network of pre-existing forest plots centered around California black oak (Quercus kelloggii) populations. This dataset will be used to evaluate oak response to multiple burns with varying burn severities, as well as to derive lidar-based metrics of burn severity. **Work Environment**
This position will require outdoor work in conditions that may include steep and rough terrain, dense vegetation, inclement weather, and biting insects. Field plot locations are in post-burn landscapes, and may contain dead and dying trees, unstable soils, and substantial woody debris. Maintaining a safe working environment is essential. Individuals should be capable of working long days, during early morning to late afternoon hours.
