The Field Service Technician is responsible for the on-site startup and service of our National Account products and services. This includes technical support via phone or email to assist customers in troubleshooting equipment in the field.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Troubleshoot by observing equipment in operation and testing system operation and by using precision gauges and testing instruments.
Troubleshoot via phone or email using the information provided by customers and schematics, testing documentation, submittal data, and other information available on RAE computer systems.
Provide warranty data and guidelines to customers.
Follow Service Department procedures on handling warranty and non-warranty troubleshooting and parts issues.
Follow Service Department procedures for logging all applicable data for service issues in the field and departmental data logging requirements.
Provide positive, accurate, and timely information to customers regarding field issues.
Test lines, components, and connections for leaks.
Dismantle malfunctioning systems and test components using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing equipment.
Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts, and reassemble repaired systems. - Read blueprints to determine the location, size, capacity, and type of components needed to build a refrigeration system. - Install wiring to connect components to an electric power source. - Perform mechanical overhauls and refrigerant reclaiming. - Cut, bend, thread, and connect pipe to functional components and water, power, or refrigeration system. - Adjust valves according to specifications and charge system with the proper type of refrigerant by pumping the specified gas or fluid into the system. - Estimate, order, pick up, deliver, and install materials and supplies needed to maintain equipment in good working condition. - Install expansion and control valves using acetylene torches and wrenches. - Mount compressor, condenser, and other components in specified locations on frames, using hand tools and acetylene welding equipment. - Keep records of repairs and replacements made and causes of malfunctions. - Layout reference points for the installation of structural and functional components using measuring instruments. - Fabricate and assemble structural and functional components of the refrigeration system using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment. - Lift and align components into position, using hoist or block and tackle. - Drill holes and install mounting brackets and hangers into the floor and walls of the building. - Insulate shells and cabinets of systems. - Travel to the job site and identify concerns by surveying conditions and making recommendations for action. - Resolve product or service problems by clarifying the customer's complaints, determining the root cause, selecting and explaining the best solution, and correcting the problem. - Startup units and equipment by going through equipment specified on startup paperwork, checking for any shipping or installation problems, tightening on all required screws, valve packing nuts, and bolts. Install service gauges, check power, and control operation. Engage power to equipment, engage control and check the operation of equipment. - Communicate with customers, contractors, engineering, and service to resolve field issues. Provide Service & Start-Up information by asking and answering questions critical to equipment performance. - Attend work as outlined in Employee Handbook and/or specified by your supervisor. - Complete other tasks as directed by supervisor. - Comply with government regulations, laws, company policies, and company procedures.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's Degree (two-year college or technical school) or equivalent job experience.
Minimum three years experience.
Ability to use Microsoft product software. Self-motivated. Effective oral and written communication skills. Multi-tasking abilities. Must have basic computer skills-ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch.
Certificates, Licenses, or training: Valid driver's license, EPA Certification preferred, Mechanical Journeyman, NATE Certification.
INTERACTION WITH OTHERS
Reports to Service Supervisor. Must be able to accurately receive and understand supervisors' instructions to determine if further instruction is required before attempting to complete the task assigned in constant communication with other departments (Service, production, etc.) and external customers. It is essential that the employee can work with all RAE team employees and show a spirit of cooperation with others in the organization.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The job is conducted 50% in a manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The other 50% of the time will be spend on the road performing work on-site at various locations for equipment startup and service. The setting may vary considerably, including outdoors and indoors, hot and cold climates, and an array of locations.

Responsibilities
Provide mammography imaging services.
Operate equipment and perform various mammography related procedures.

Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
One or more of the following required:
Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
Education:
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Job Details:
This is a 1099/per call position
Pay is based solely on the number of calls completed.
Calls start at $35 and go up based on distance traveled
Pay period: Every Friday after the first week worked
Tickets are run Monday-Friday during the day shift. Candidates must be regularly available a minimum of 3 weekdays to be considered.
Call volume is variable but is usually 2-5 calls per day
You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you.
You must have a reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license to run these calls. You will be visiting multiple work sites throughout your day.
You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day.
You must be available to log into your tech portal each morning you are working by 9 am to code your calls and map out your route for the day.
The manufacturer has completed troubleshooting and shipped a part prior to your ticket being issued to you.
You will confirm service times with the customer in your tech portal. Services will be completed at the customer site (residential and commercial)
You will pick up parts daily from the assigned Fed Ex or UPS store for your territory before going onsite. Once all calls are completed for the day drop off the old parts with the pre-paid label that is provided.

What You Will Do
Travel to jobs sites from your home office to perform checkout, testing, troubleshooting and commissioning/ startup of a wide variety of electrical and mechanical equipment for our manufactured equipment. This equipment includes, but is not limited to the following: pumps, motors, VFD's, positioners, valves, actuators, and transmitters, combustion equipment, emission monitoring equipment, recorders, and programmable logic controllers (PLC).,
Specialists will be required to commission, troubleshoot and alter different types of PLC's (programmable controllers, mainly Allen Bradley and Siemens) PID loop controllers, VFD's, HMI's, and other control devices.
Be on call for customer service as needed.
Modify technical documents and drawings (redlines) to represent final field changes and corrections for commissioning of equipment.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Experience programming, calibrating, and configuring 4-20 MA loop devices.
Experience for modifying, diagnosing and troubleshooting PLC's (programmable Logic Controllers) such as, but not limited to, Allen Bradley and GE brands.
Experience understanding and applying National Electrical code (NEC)
Experience reading and understanding P&ID's, fabrication drawings, and electrical schematics.
Able to travel over 75% of the time.

The Field Service Technician is primarily responsible for scheduled and remedial (break-fix) service on Small to Medium UPS, Power Distribution Units & Battery system products (2-120KVA) serviced by Vertiv, commensurate with appropriate classroom and on-the-job training. ABOUT THE POSITION
Field Dock & Door Service Techs function as part of the Warehouse Products Service Team and are responsible for installing, diagnosing, and repairing warehouse docks and doors.
In this role you will:
* Repair Warehouse Docks and Rollup Doors to bring each customer's facility back to operational safety standards through safety protocols, evaluating repair needs, and communicating those effectively with the customer.
* Performing New Installation on Dock and Door projects.
* Effectively communicate with all involved parties about possible downtime and job progress to include the Warehouse Products team so that they may also provide quality customer service and customer communications.
* Operate in a safe, efficient manner with minimal supervision.

REQUIREMENTS
* Minimum 1 year experience installing and repairing loading dock equipment, commercial doors, and high-speed doors preferred
* Minimum 21 years of age with a clean driving record
* Above-average communication skills
* Ability to complete DOT medical certification if assigned DOT-rated vehicle
* High School diploma or equivalent
* Possessing or having the ability to obtain a complete line of tools

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
This position:
* will be working in operating facilities and outdoors traveling to customer locations. The employee will encounter varying weather conditions and temperatures. The normal auto hazards will apply.

You will lead a team of service technicians based upon a specified geographic area or project/customer assignment to respond the customer's need for service and maintenance of equipment through maintenance, diagnosis and repair of refrigeration, heating & air-conditioning system commonly installed in supermarkets, convenient stores and cold storage facilities.
**Responsibilities**

+ Development and maintenance of excellent customer relations. Fluent in applicable customer systems, business processes, administrative support, etc.

+ Manage truck inventory. Orders, receives, bills out and maintains parts responsibly with a minimum of waste. Manages assigned vehicle within all company guidelines. Maintains a clean vehicle, performs required maintenance on time.
+ Complete necessary documents and electronic communication in a thorough, accurate, professional and timely manner. Demonstrate the ability to utilize hand-held device to complete necessary paperwork and invoicing requirements.
+ Ability to systematically utilize mirror and flashlight to check all joints, install PVC drainpipe with minimal supervision, set and trim cases, install and adjust glass doors and frames, use temperature sensors, use brazing and soldering techniques, and determine proper coil layout in complex boxes.
+ Accurately identify pipe size and fittings by sight, perform system refrigerant and oil conversions and test oil during conversion and electric weld a variety of metals and joint types.
+ Identify, troubleshoot, and correctly size thermostatic expansion valves.
+ Working knowledge of pressure regulators as they pertain to pressurized gases, refrigerant flow controls, TEV troubleshooting and replacement, and tracing complex schematic diagrams.
+ Demonstrate understanding of low/high pressure oil systems, split condensing/low ambient controls, refrigerated equipment startup, EMS controls, CO2 refrigeration, new retail store refrigeration startup, air flow characteristics and testing, motor VFD's, all system defrost types, recovery setup, torch setup, compressor operating parameters, conventional refrigeration system layout, and parallel rack system layout, and advanced wiring diagrams.
+ Demonstrate a working knowledge of gauge, scale, recovery, ECM, shaded pole, PSC, three phase motors, compressor operating parameters, oil differential pressure valves and oil level controls.
+ Detect and repair leaks on conventional systems and parallel racks, solder with copper-to-brass and copper to steel, conduct compressor diagnosis and replacements, troubleshoot and repair more complex service calls, check/adjust oil management system and compressor oil level control.
+ Serve as a mentor to other technicians and lead HVAC/R PM programs.
+ Additional responsibilities as assigned.
**Qualifications**
Education Requirement:
Required Level: High School Diploma/GED
Preferred level: HVAC-R Technical School Degree
Minimum Years of Experience Necessary:
+ External Candidates: 7 years in the field or 5 years with Certification from a Technical School

+ Must have a Valid Driver's License and maintain a safe driving record accordance with the Fleet Policy.
+ Must be physically able to walk distances, bench and crouch, climb ladders, work at high elevations and lift/carry objects up to fifty pounds, repetitively and for an external period.
