It also leases trucks, as well as refrigerated trailers for the storage and transportation of perishable items. As of December 31, 2012, the company operated a fleet of 1,807 tractors, including 1,490 company-owned and leased tractors and 317 tractors supplied by owner-operators, as well as maintained 3,252 trailers. Frozen Food Express Industries, Inc. was founded in 1946 and is based in Dallas, Texas. As of August 16, 2013, Frozen Food Express Industries Inc. was taken private.
