The Critical Minerals Security Program at CSIS seeks to provide evidence-based thought leadership to develop innovative and sensible policy solutions to reduce supply chain vulnerabilities for key minerals. The Project is seeking a Fellow to advance our research and policy agenda at the intersection of critical minerals and national, economic and energy security. The Fellow will play an important role in shaping the research agenda, producing high-quality research outputs, leading high-profile events, engaging with key decisionmakers in government and the private sector, and mentoring junior staff.
The salary range for this position is $80,000-$120,000 based on experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:
* Collaborate with the Director to develop research projects from inception through completion, including proposal development, research execution and dissemination.
* Author high-quality deliverables including reports, white papers, policy briefs, memos, and op-eds.
* Conceptualize and lead events, including conferences, panels, and roundtables, based on programmatic research priorities.
* Promote the program's analysis (including your own) to a diverse set of stakeholders, including government officials, policymakers, journalists, academics, and the public.
* Build and manage relationships with key external stakeholders.
* Mentor junior research staff, ensuring production of high-quality outputs.
KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:
* 4-6 years of experience working on mining-related matters in policy, industry, research or government.
* Strong research background with demonstrated publication record. Experience working with both quantitative and qualitative data strongly preferred.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with external stakeholders, including industry, government, academia, and the media.
* Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to identifying challenges, setting priorities, and developing creative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:Research and Analysis

Compensation
A salary within the range of $88,055-96,786 will be provided to the successful candidate, consistent with the National Women's Law Center's compensation framework. The successful candidate's salary within this range will be determined by the number years of relevant experience they bring to the role.

NWLC is a non-profit organization whose headquarters and staff are based in Washington, D.C. at our new office at 1350 Eye Street N.W. Human Rights First is a nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy and action organization committed to defending human rights. Our Refugee Representation team, which recruits and mentors lawyers to represent asylum seekers on a pro bono basis, is one of the largest and most successful programs of its kind in the country.
NATURE OF THE FELLOWSHIP
The fellow will work full-time in our Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., or New York office. They will report to one of our Supervising Senior Staff Attorneys, all of whom are experienced attorneys committed to providing mentorship and guidance throughout the length of the fellowship. Previous legal fellows with Human Rights First have had the opportunity to, among other things, represent clients in immigration court and before the Asylum Office; engage in representation and advocacy on behalf of detained asylum seekers; conduct research and advocacy on border policies impacting asylum seekers; and draft press releases, policy recommendations, and reports to advocate for systemic change of the asylum system, many of which have been reported in media outlets such as The Los Angeles Times, Washington Post and Buzzfeed News.
Human Rights First is primarily interested in projects that will support our efforts in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and/or New York to advance due process and address restrictive asylum policies and systemic impediments to access to counsel and fair proceedings in the legal representation and treatment of asylum-seekers during border processes, asylum office interviews, and immigration court hearings. We are also interested in projects relating to representation of particularly vulnerable populations, such as ethnic minorities or survivors of gender-based violence, among others, as well as individuals with legally complex “particular social group cases” are subject to changing administrative and judicial challenges.

The Center for Criminal Justice Reform at the University of Baltimore School of Law (CCJR) supports community-driven efforts to support public safety and address the harm and inequity caused by the criminal legal system. CCJR is seeking a Legal Fellow (Fellow) to start as soon as possible. This fellowship is a full-time, one-year position with possible renewal, working under the direction of the CCJR Executive Director involving policy reform and advocacy, research, writing and related activities which will advance the CCJR mission.
The Fellow's work will focus on the law and policy related to CCJR's existing activities and upcoming initiatives to end mass incarceration and reduce racial and ethnic disparities in all aspects of the criminal legal process. This includes for example, work to support community violence intervention and other non-carceral approaches to producing community safety and investment, reducing the harms of policing, advancing equitable victim services and supportive reentry programming and more. This may include drafting reports and/or policy papers, legislative analysis and advocacy, law student supervision, and other related activities. Position Duties:
To successfully complete MIFP as a maintenance professional the student will complete various tasks.
Complete up to 3,000 hours of On-the-Job Learning (OJL) and a structured curriculum of academic learning emphasizing the four essential attributes to develop competent, capable, multiskilled maintenance professionals and leaders. The fellow will work with supervisors, trainer and MIFP Coordinators to track hours of On-the-Job Learning.
Participate in one Great American Outdoors Act Strike Force infrastructure project or one Maintenance Action Team (MAT) project every six months. These are larger-scale projects that bring maintenance professionals together from across the region to collaborate and accomplish a goal. The fellow may be required to detail at a location other than their duty station.
In addition to hours of OJL recorded, each Fellow must complete a Work Process Competencies Checklist. The checklists cover each OJL work process category. Tasks must be completed during the term of fellowship. The intent of this checklist is to guide both the fellow and Supervisor in ensuring OJL time is meaningful and provides diversity of experience for maximum learning.
Lead a small project where they plan for equipment, labor, supplies and develop a site safety plan at their station. Complete and present a final report of the project that includes photos, cost estimation versus actual expenses, and summary of the work done. This project will be referred to as a Capstone. One Capstone Project will be completed during the first year of the program, then an additional project each six-month increment of the program. The projects will increase in difficulty as the fellow's skills and knowledge increases. A poster on the first capstone will be presented at the closeout ceremony.
Complete tasks assigned to the fellows by supervisor or day-to-day trainer. 80% of fellows time will be spent completing maintenance related tasks. 20% of fellow's time can be used to complete tasks in other refuge programs ie. Biology, Visitor Services.
Attend all required MIFP, station and refuge meetings. MIFP meetings will consist of monthly meetings with all MIFP fellows and monthly maintenance cohort meetings. Station and refuge meetings will be outlined by supervisors.
Effectively communicate scheduling and needs with supervisor and MIFP coordinators.

Asset and Facility Maintenance: rehabilitates, repairs, and upgrades various exhibits and structures.

This one-year, ACGME accredited Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology fellowship at Children's National Medical Center is to obtain a level of knowledge and clinical experience which will enable the graduate to become an expert in the field and provide anesthetic care for patients of all ages with congenital heart disease. It is expected that the fellow obtain proficiency in all six ACGME core competencies as it relates to the pediatric cardiac anesthesiology program. The fellowship experience will consist of twelve one month rotations at Children's National Hospital. The yearlong experience will allow the fellow to gain experience in all arenas where patients with congenital heart disease receive anesthesia, including the cardiac operating rooms, the cardiac catheterization lab, and the cardiac MRI. In addition, the program will provide rotations in Perfusion, Pediatric Echocardiography, and Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care. As the fellow progresses through the program, he/she will gradually take on greater responsibility and independence. At the successful conclusion of the program, the fellow will be qualified to practice independently, and be poised to become a leader in the field of Congenital Cardiac Anesthesiology. Academic time will also be provided for research and scholarly endeavors.

Job purpose

The Details

The Tahirih Justice Center is a national, nonprofit organization that serves women, girls, and all immigrant survivors of gender-based violence. Our interdisciplinary, trauma-informed model of service combines free legal and social services with bridge-building policy advocacy and research-based training and education. Our programs efficiently and effectively leverage donated professional services from a vast network of attorneys, medical professionals, and other experts to serve as many immigrant survivors as possible. By amplifying the experiences of survivors in communities, courts, and Congress, Tahirih's mission is to create a world in which all people share equal rights and live in safety and with dignity.
Position Summary: The Tahirih Justice Center is seeking a full-time Bahá'í Service Fellow passionate for advocating and supporting survivors of intimate partner violence, trafficking, and sexual assault to begin in summer 2025 and serve for one year. Fellows engage in work to support Tahirih's mission in legal services and social services. The fellow must live within commuting distance of our Baltimore office or be willing to relocate to the Baltimore, MD area.
Tahirih's Bahá'í Service Fellowships were created to enable Fellows to engage in one year of service to humanity and learn from the work of a well-established, Bahá'í-inspired, non-profit organization. The fellows who serve in these positions are Bahá'ís who help advance the organization's mission through meaningful professional work to achieve justice while also being of service to the local Bahá'í community through outreach and engagement (up to 8 hours per week).
Primary Responsibilities
Outreach
Engage in and promote civic engagement and public benefits presentations to Tahirih's community stakeholders to empower survivors in exercising their legal rights and accessing basic need services
Lead Tahirih's efforts to orient new community partners and stakeholders on Tahirih's mission and services, such as at tabling events or in coalition meetings
Be an ambassador for Tahirih's mission in state-wide and local coalitions who serve survivors of intimate partner violence, trafficking, and sexual assault
Create and manage local team's outreach calendar to help the team effectively coordinate outreach opportunities
Participate in other relevant outreach opportunities as needed.
Office Support
Assist with opening and closing legal case files under supervision of legal staff
Manage client donation closet to include seeking donations, organizing, and purging as needed
Manage administrative tasks that require a physical presence in the office, (ex. greeting guests and vendors)
Orient new staff and interns to the physical office space, receive equipment and ensure set up
Support office safety and security through ensuring compliance with building requirements, work in partnership with the operations coordinator to ensure local deployment of office safety and security measures
Participate in the monthly Client Services and Operations Coordinator meeting to strengthen coordination and communication between offices
Order supplies for office as needed
The fellows will also perform service in the local Bahá'í community in which they are living for the duration of the fellowship for up to eight hours per week. The nature of the service will depend on the experience and interests of the Fellow and the activities, opportunities and plans in the local Bahá'í community. The specific service will be selected in consultation with appropriate Bahá'í institutions but may include engaging in social action projects, facilitating or studying within the Institute process, and/or attending conferences and gatherings in which Bahá'í youth social action is explored. The fellows' workload at the organization will accommodate time set aside for engagement in the Bahá'í community.
