Delbarton School Alumni Teacher Fellows Program Description Position Description: The Delbarton School Alumni Teacher Fellows Program is a one year opportunity open to Delbarton alumni currently in their senior year of college. The term of the Fellowship is from August to June of their first post-graduate year. We have immediate availability for postdoctoral associate researchers in experimental particle physics on the CMS experiment at Rutgers University. Our group, led by Profs. John Paul Chou, Yuri Gershtein, Eva Halkiadakis, Amit Lath, Sunil Somalwar, and Scott Thomas, has major involvement in physics, software, and hardware of the CMS experiment. We collaborate closely with our particle theorist colleagues at Rutgers. The successful candidate is expected to participate in analysis of CMS data and to contribute to our responsibilities on the HL- LHC Upgrades on L1 Track Trigger and Outer Tracker modules production. The group has additional responsibilities on both the HCAL and BRIL subsystems. The Center for Discovery & Innovation was established by Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) as an academic basic and translational research enterprise to rapidly translate science innovation to the clinic and to improve outcomes for patients with cancer, infectious diseases, autoimmune disease and other acute and chronic diseases. The CDI has grown rapidly since its origins in 2019, and now has 32 labs, 190 scientists and allied personnel supported by 60 NIH grants and more than 30 other grants and contracts. Fellowship Requirements include: Teaching: * Teach a total of 18 graduate and/or undergraduate credits annually in online, hybrid or face-to-face modalities per departmental needs; Collaborate with faculty through tailored mentorship. * Using approved course outline as a guide, develop relevant syllabi in order to deploy course content, objectives, and methods of student assessment. * Contribute to student success of a diverse student population by providing consistent and effective support and guidance through role modeling, mentoring, and being available to respond to student questions and needs. Scholarship: * A strong commitment to establishing a research program involving undergraduates and graduate students. * A continued dedication to be involved in research and scholarship and to disseminate these in quality research publications, external and internal grant submissions; Collaborate with faculty through tailored mentorship. Service: * Participate in the variety of service opportunities within the department, college, and university community including mentoring students where appropriate. * Engage in assessment of student learning as well as program and accreditation assessment and reporting requirements. * Attend department and college meetings and engage in activities of the department. Required Qualifications: * Identifies as a member of an underrepresented population in one or more of the following ways-race, ethnicity, gender, socio-economic background, first-generation college, etc. * ABD from an accredited college or university, with an emphasis in Computer Science or Information Technology or closely related field. * Strong commitment to teaching. * Evidence or promise of research capacity and a planned agenda of achievement in scholarly productivity. * Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion concepts and their applicability to the field of teaching and learning. * Commitment to advancing the mission, vision, and values of the University. Preferred qualifications: * Demonstrated ability to succeed in a collaborative environment by freely offering expertise and being open to meaningful feedback and ongoing professional development. * Evidence of teaching excellence and supporting student success. * Capable of engaging and contributing in order to make a positive impact. * Ability to navigate the complexities of a multi-faceted organization with competing wants and needs.
