Description & Details: We are looking for a highly motivated, creative, and independent Applied Electromagnetics researcher who is interested in interdisciplinary Electromagnetic Source Transformations for advancing technology in Wireless Sensors and Communications. The research position is focused on novel modeling and prototyping methods for the creation of new sensor and antenna technologies, for innovative next generation Ag Technology. The work will be located in the labs of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at NDSU, Fargo ND, USA. The Department of Plant Sciences at North Dakota State University is seeking a postdoctoral research fellow to work in the soybean breeding/genetics program. The research project will focus on the genetic improvement of Symbiotic Nitrogen Fixation (SNF) by using new/modern tools to identify and select optimal combinations using soybean genotypes. Additional work will include greenhouse, laboratory, and field activities focused on the genetic analysis of breeding and genetic populations by using genotypic and phenotypic data and its application into soybean improvement. The successful applicant is also expected to collaborate with scientists in other departments and institutions to better understand the genetic mechanisms of SNF in soybean. The candidate is expected to be familiar with the use and application of both new and available omics tools (phenomics, genomics, metabolomics, etc.) along with computational biology tools to develop soybean cultivars in increased SNF efficiency. Reporting and budget management duties will be made in coordination with the project leader. Project is initially planned for ~1 year with a possibility of a renewal/extension. The Department of Chemistry is seeking a 12-month, post-doctoral research fellow to conduct research on the development and testing of new methods and algorithms for solving challenging quantum chemistry problems on future quantum computers. The initial appointment will be for one year and is full-time and benefitted, with potential for renewal for a second year, pending annual review of performance and continued availability of funding. The Department of Chemistry in Abbott Hall at the University of North Dakota is well-equipped for ongoing research performed by individual faculty and is funded by external funding from the National Science Foundation, ND EPSCoR, PRF ACS and other agencies. Abbott Hall houses 29 laboratories and classrooms, over 30 faculty and student offices including space for modern teaching and research facilities. The lab has access to several computing resources including at UND Computational Research Center and ACCESS national computing grid.
